Where is this "1 team list" BS coming from? SJ was the one who likely asked about Bieksa and was the most aggressive so that's why Bieksa negotiated an extension with them. That doesn't mean that he'd only waive for them. Benning even said that he doesn't ask players to waive until a trade is close to happening first so I doubt Bieksa was even asked to waive for other teams.

So what? I am a critic. Like I said, for me that doesnt translate into chasing people out of town and dumping them. You want to bury players that are part of our core in the minors to force them to ask for trades... you want them dumped for nothing... you are the most unrealistic poster on here.

this is exactly how I see it also.

I am in no way a draft expert, but this is how I view it.

1st round . Never heard of the guy
2nd round. Nothing
3 rd round . Trade a younger goalie for someone I never heard of.
Every round after, never heard of the guy.

Sorry I am not as thrilled as the rest of you

They also had a very good to decent draft this year.

It is...but it's also baffling the quick turncoats on Benning. Did very well to get this team back to the PO's last season (which most wanted) and he is doing his best to clean up the mess Gillis left him. It ain't Bennings' fault this core is stale and their value is low (eg Bieksa). We all knew this was coming when we handcuffed ourselves with over 10 NTC's and ridiculous contracts. We are the Flames 2.0 literally. It's going to take us 4-5 seasons to get out of this funk that we all knew was going to happen eventually. Benning is also a new GM so there will be some rookie errors...again something we need to have patience on.

Sure Lack 'might' have been worth a 2nd and yes Bieksa should have moved yesterday but we FINALLY have a decent prospect list and asking NTCs to waive. Youth is coming in. Benning is doing good so far. Give it time.

Ray Ferraro was just on 1040 an hour ago saying the very same thing, Benning was handed a core that was hanging on by a thread with no prospects to speak of. They gave them a chance for one more push, his words, now the task starts changing the team out for youth.

It's just gonna take some time.
