Peter Karmanos' company that owned the Canes was called "Gale Force Sports and Entertainment" which was why the original warning flag was only a Gale Force Wind warning and not a Hurricane warning flag.

When Dundon bought the team they wanted to correct that and because Dundon loves negative space features he had them include the outline of NC in the gap between the two flags.

end of the day it still looks like some dumb (frank)ing beer league logo and they should have just gone all in on a pirate themed rebrand.

they need to rename the team

a) dont (frank)ing name your team after something that kills people

b) if you must name it after something that kills people at least name it after something that leads to cool logos like a tiger. nothing hurricane themed looks cool on a jersey. it's just a fact that's been proven by science.
