it sort of matches now that i see them together. i thought the shade of blue on the gear was way off the shade of blue on their normal jersey until i saw them together. if it's different it's not much different.

the only difference is the pads don't have any navy blue like the jerseys. other than that the royal, yellow and white match perfectly.

im pretty sure they were made to match the blue in the winter classic uniforms but i guess youre right its close enough

since i chimed in i've gone back and forth on current reg season and winter classic photos. i thought that the royal blue in both were the same and it was the navy trim that made it all look darker. but you're right. the royal is a tad lighter in the WC jersey. but i love the Blues duds right now.

not a fan of that dark blue being mixed in the current jersey.

i notice a slight change between the shades of blue but they just wore the throwbacks again (beauts) and he wore the gear and with either uni the difference isn't really severe enough to be a problem. like in the 80's where sometimes the shade of your helmet or pants didn't exactly match the jersey perfectly and nobody really cared.
