Since it is so early in the season is it better for the Isles to attempt to right the ship, or have a Habs-esque like performance to get ownerships attention?

How the hell did Hamonic get hurt? If it was a noticeable play I totally missed it.

Happened to catch the shootout right when it started last game. I was wondering what round it was in, didn't realize those three players were the 1st shooters.

I haven't even watched the last two games and it's been nice. The Oilers game was on while I was at my parent's house on Saturday, but I was standing outside by the fire and not really paying much attention. I did watch the shootout and it was pretty ugly.

Although, they did lose their two best shootout guys in Nielsen and Okposo...and Tavares blows in the shootout. So it's not like they have a lot of attractive options to choose from.

True. Weird how some of the top players in the league are awful at shootouts. Just from the Rangers I know Jagr and Nash are. I don't think Ovi is all that good either.

I half expected Seidenberg to be the 2nd shooter.

Would have been awesome if it was Halak. Wonder if thats even legal? See the goalie coming down in full gear with a forwards stick.

Yea I don't think Ovechkin is always in their top 3 shooters, sometimes..but not always. I could be wrong.

I guess it's mostly that being a good "finisher" doesn't necessarily equate to being a good all-around hockey player (which those guys all are) and vice versa.

I remember Roy coming out puck handling during a ranger game all the way to center ice, that was a penalty. Not sure about a shootout though.

If you guys lose to the Canucks tonight, I wonder if it will be the straw that breaks Cappy's melon? I really can't see this going on much longer.

I was wondering the same thing. Canucks will be a pissed squad after the Toronto game as well. Does not bode well.

Matt Hendricks used to be one of the go to guys for the Caps in the shootout and has been used the same for the Oil. Oddly enough he does a pretty decent job of it. Just never know.

I know Grabovski is hurt but Grabo, Kulimen, Ladd & Lee total about 20 million in salary and they have 1 goal scored between them all . Please Canucks win this game tonight

I mean that would be the logical solution, but I've given up all hope that this team operates within the confines of logical decision-making.

I hate to say it, but losing until Capuano and/or Snow get fired may be the best course of action for this team.

I've pretty much lost all faith in this team's ability to operate in a functional manner.

The goalie cannot play the puck over the red line or its a penalty

I haven't even been watching the last few games. I may be (usually) level-headed in here, but I get way to worked up over this sh!t. I needed a break I was getting way too stressed out over this team.

Yeah, we were wondering about a shootout if you could list a goalie as a shooter.

Been there, done that.

Eventually I just focused on rooting for individual players on my squad so that I wouldn't focus on the losses.
Draisaitl scores 3 points but Oil lose 6-3. Still a happy camper.

Probably isn't a rule against it just because no one has ever thought to try it.

So would I.

Can you imagine Talbot bearing down on Lundqvist? Would be a glorious spectacle especially if he scored.
