G is now second in points in the nhl. What a great comeback year so far. Props to hak for moving him to wing as well.

I thought he was done. Would struggle to score 60 points and be a -20 player.

Giroux is on fire right now.
Same with Coots.
Same with Jake.

To me Giroux looks like the version of him from a few years ago..where he just has another level when it comes to skating and vision right now.

Yup. He’s been unbelievable breaking out. One timing cross ice passes to get out of he zone hitting a guy in stride...not turning it over. His puck moving right now is on another level from everyone

Hard to believe that G is 2nd in the league in points. I couldn't believe it when I heard it.

The scary thing is that adding Konecny to that line immediately makes them look even more dangerous.

As mentioned in the previous thread the biggest issue by far to me now is PP2. That unit is just a complete mess. They're going to have to give one of the kids, be it Patrick or Konecny a substantial role there because it's just not working with the other options they've got. Actually icing Sanhiem over Manning would also likely be a big improvement as well.

My first Flyers game in over 6 years and they certainly appeared to play their best hockey all season....if they could only play like this all year. In any event, thanks Flyers for making my wife’s Christmas present and 3 hour drive from DC worth it!

Jagr being cut by Calgary. Wow.

If we aren't going to call a kid up might as well bring him in here and send Lehtera to the popcorn machine. Would certainly be a decent move for PP2's sake.

Some one please explain this team to me?

I don't get it... They lay a total egg against Pitt, a game that means so much to them in the standings...

The play teams like the Bolts and really take the game to them. Against St.L they were skating well and taking the play to the Blues for the first 2 periods.

This team has a dual personality and you never know which one is going to show.

Giroux, while still a half season to go and I'm sure scoreless games will happen, is 3rd in the NHL in scoring.

My guess is

They arent talented enough , across the board yet, to get by without having to give maximum effort every game.

Since they are human and not robots its impossible to give maximum effort every game.

Someone here told me not to bother, Schenn was going to score 5 goals.

yeah, I am sure there are a lot of G haters who have been real quiet this year...

You have to hope they trade a Dman or 2 at the deadline and weise or 2. I cant believe I am goignt o say this, they might be able to trade AMAC and retain very little salary.

Hope to beat Sabers today but then a week off. The good news is the Flyers play so well coming off breaks.

its not just them, most of the league is dual personality, look at Carolina and all the teams right around the Flyers in the standings.

In the East I am impressed by Caps who have maintained their level of play and Boston, who looks to be the best team RIGHT NOW

half way point, you can say they are inconsistent for sure but shouldn't they have been expected with the make up of the roster?

Very interesting games today.
What if
Pitt, Islanders, Rangers, Columbus and even the Caps lose???

9 points between the Flyers and Caps and all teams in between...

We complain a lot about the inconsistent play of the Flyers but the standings tell the story

I think the league is so talented and fast compared to years past that its hard for a team to win and put together long streaks.

Perhaps, he wants to play inOlympics. With Calgary going nowhere this season and NHLers not participating in OI he has a shot ata medal.

That's a nice call tbh. Didn't think of that.

Still I never want him to stop playing in the NHL
