I’m going to miss Armia a lot but the trade is necessary in today’s NHL.
With Enstrom and Matthias off he books this all adds up.
Lots of work to do and look for some young faces next year on entry level deals

5.75/year for 3 years? I think you’re dreaming!

Maybe 7-7.5 per for 5

They are not signing a 32 year old guy for 5 years at 7 million. No chance

Sorry, but there is no way Hutchinson signs with the Jets. I think there was too many hard feelings. They'll look at someone they can sign for a year, maybe Chad Johnson or maybe Halak. They just need a bridge for one more Year until Comrie isn't waiver eligible.

Or, funny enough with Mason being bought out, maybe he signs back with us for 1 year if there are no other options. Chevy could have known Mtl would buy out Mason.

Chevy is a #ComputerBoy. Love that deal. Armia gets a chance to shine elsewhere, Mason is off the books, and #Petano suddenly has a chance

I bet Dano and Petan are jealous of Armia right now

In reality this only saves us about 3 million as we will need to sign a back up goalie and armia’s replacement will
Still cost around a million. I still see more moves needed for cap space if they want Stastny and to sign everyone else.

Montreal has put Mason on unconditional waivers for buyout. It will cost the Habs 1.36 mill to buy him out. Does Chevy go back and offer Mason a one year deal at bargain price after he clears and is bought out?

There has to be more trade deals in the works.

Good job on getting rid of JarHead Chevy.

So what's realistic for Stastny? 5years at 6per?

Hope not!!! 3 years at 5.5 makes the most sense.

With a greater role in Montreal, it would not surprise me if Armia next year, becomes this years version of William Karlsson.

I haven't seen it talked about much. But do you guys think that Little will also be traded at some point? With guys like Lowry, Copp, Perreault and Rozlovic all being able to play center? Quite a bit more cap space can be saved there to for the future.

Perreault is no longer a centre and Roslovic has been used primarily as a winger so far. Even Copp hasn't been a centre 100% of the time. Ideally I think Jets management wants Scheifele, Stastny, Little, Lowry to match up against Nashville and other top tier teams with C death,

He has a no move that kicks in tomorrow (July 1rst) I could see it being looked it once Stastny was signed but not ynlesss that was done. I for one want Roslovic to start the year at Center.

I agree Ross. These are same numbers I am thinking. I doubt Chevy would want to pay much more , and term is a factor because of Seattle in 2020.

The reason Armia was expendable is that Vesalainen is maybe a year away at most and Rosolovic is versatile. Armia would not make the protection list in two years anyways. It might also clear a half million in cap.

I'm OK with this deal if it leads to us getting Statsny. I think there is a bit more house-cleaning to do still. My only worry is we need some decent insurance for Hellybucyk in case of injury. I'd hate to see our season shot because of a major injury to one player.....Helle.

Armia couldn’t score 43 across a full season if he had an empty net every game

A little outside the box but Ryan O’Reiley at 3 years younger over Stastny interests me a lot. I know expensive but a hell of a 2-way player, motivated from sick of losing. If $ made sense he would be a beast here

Jets roster now looking like this :

Connor - Scheif - Wheeler
Ehlers - Statsny - Laine
Little - Perreault - Roslovic
Tanev - Lowry - Copp
Petan

Myers- Buff
Morrisey - Trouba
Kulikov - Poolman/ Morrow
( Niku/ Chariot)

Trade candidates - Little or Perreault ( if he agrees) , Copp, Kulikov, Chariot, Dano, Petan.

Right now with many of the younger players a year older , it appears to be a stronger lineup than last year.

I'd still like to see Petan somehow make this team in the fall but just not sure he has the size or strength for a third or fourth line role.
