Franzen (for real) has been LTIRed, Hossa (dubious) has been LTIRed, Kovalchuk retired and is back, Zetterberg is going to retire soon for zero money left over, Keith has nothing left on his deal but Cap, Luongo will probably be allowed to walk away with no cap recapture. It's bullpoop.

I've said it for a long time, just make all the contracts percentage contracts. Tavares should get 13% of the cap, not 11 million a year. If the cap goes up, he gets more. If the cap goes down, his salary goes down.

2. Dubas is "bullish" on our D. He could be using the media to send a message to another GM or two, but I believe it.

As for the D, I'm in agreement. I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be and having 4 quality lines and the best center group in the NHL (yeah, I said it Oilers' fans) will make up for any shortfalls.

Polak out, Borgman/Holl/Rosen in. Already that's an improvement. Healthy Zaitsev, another plus. A year older Dermott, that too.

Give them a chance, stop trying to unload Nylander for a top pairing RHD that doesn't exist.
