Man, the NHL is a crap shoot. It's a parity filled cap league where everyone but the top and bottome five teams is a crap shoot to make the playoffs. The Capitals had one of the worst off seasons in NHL history last year and just won one of the flukiest Cups ever.

TJ Oshie was a TERRIBLE signing. Kuznetsov, I'll admit I may have been wrong on that one, but my point was that instead of using the rest of your cap on him, you could turn him into three or four young players. Still don't think that was a bad idea, given that the team should by all rights have missed the playoffs.

And Barry Trotz is not a really good coach.

"Pretty thin" is a comment they make about their theory on what crime happened, and had nothing to do with Murtaugh's retirement plans. And was the original Lethal Weapon, not 3. Unless I'm forgetting a call back to it in 3?

Sounds like what the Capitals need is Troy Brouwer back and for him to bring Michael Stone with him.

Calling it one of the flukiest Cups ever is just a cop out by you to avoid having to admit how badly you got it wrong. TJ Oshie was not a terrible signing. They won the Cup! That alone makes it a good signing.

Goals don't matter cups don't matter quality of competition doesn't matter only shots towards the goal matters. The sample size is too small, it was luck, and you don't understand.

It must be the off season... the sky is falling in Tanners world.
Last summer is was the same bullsh*t... Oshie signing was the worst, D is too slow... blah blah blah... they win a cup, and it's the same crap.

The Caps will not repeat, but give it a rest with the tears dude.

I think their top 6 is pretty good with Ovi - Kuz - Wilson and Vrana - Backstrom - Oshie. Think the lines are well balanced and provide a lot of scoring. Of course there are better RWs than Wilson but his energy and annoying head also give more room to play for the other guys on the line.

Burakovsky - Eller - Connolly is on of the best third lines around and fourth line is okay with Stephenson - Dowd/Boyd - DSP. There is not much depth on their roster but they can always add during the season (ala Kempny).

Defensive pairings are also okay although one vet RHD would be nice to have.
