I do NOT want to deal with Frenchies after their country won something. They are annoying enough as is. |

Just read that patches definitely won't be resigned. What are your guys feelings on this? And, what do you think it takes to get him? |

Nobody really likes him but he scores goals. We just hope they don't let him walk away for nothing.
At this point a first round pick and a young prospect close or already in the NHL, left D. |

I'll never say a bad thing about Patch. when everyone stopped playing for Therrien 2 years ago, he was still giving his 150% every night.
As for his current value, that will depend if an extension is signed with his future team.
a top c or d prospect and a pick would be nice, more if Habs take a bad contract back. |

Am I the only one who thinks that, if true, the Habs have weakened their trade value for Pacioretty by saying he won't be re-signed? Now, the other GM's know he's not going back after next year, whereas before MB could have easily just said that unless they pony up what he wants, he'd just keep Patches. Now it's, "Please take him, if I lose him for nothing...".
Not good. |

no you're not. but are you really surprised?!?
Habs (frank)ed up this big time, and a long time ago, not just today.
after the Subban trade, You either go all in and finish the job, aka acquire a top C.
otherwise, you sell and rebuild, and then you trade Patch last year at this time for much more than what they will get now. |

If he lets other teams negotiate a contract before the trade then no issue really.
Also everyone, including isolated goat herders in the mountains of Xinjiang in China, know the Habs are gonna trade him rather than re-sign him. So not sure what the big deal is... |
