Just read that patches definitely won't be resigned. What are your guys feelings on this? And, what do you think it takes to get him? - cranktheradio
At this point I fully expect the return to be a 3rd round pick and a fringe AHLer |

I'll never say a bad thing about Patch. when everyone stopped playing for Therrien 2 years ago, he was still giving his 150% every night.
As for his current value, that will depend if an extension is signed with his future team.
a top c or d prospect and a pick would be nice, more if Habs take a bad contract back. - fidopro

An NHL source tells @MAGodin that the Canadiens have informed Max Pacioretty they will not negotiate a contract extension with him: - Symba007
Pacioretty was underpaid for like 5 years... Why can’t Bergevin overpay him for 8 years where nobody wants to play? |

The additions behind the bench in the NHL + AHL will no doubt help with the development of the players, and I applaud MTL for taking steps in that direction.
However you remain far more optimistic about the Habs current prospect system than any analysis I have read. Poehling is maybe the 10th best centre from the 2017 draft, and was a 1st round pick. Which doesn't really qualify as a "steal" IMO. And Primeau undoubtedly had a fantastic freshmen season, but goaltenders are impossible to project at 19. Remember that Fucale was supposed to be the goaltender of the future not so long ago.
The only thing that could prevent this from being a full scale rebuild is the play of Price (and Weber when healthy). If you think otherwise you're fooling yourself. |

Panthers spend more money on players than the Canadiens when there is like 11000 less fan and 5x cheaper tickets in Florida each game. |

If Gallagher was smart, he would have used the escavator instead. |

Useless unless the Head Coach is gone. Julien does not understand the modern NHL. That and he can't leave a line together for more than 5 minutes. |

Fryingpan had a good year in the NCAA and progressed according to plan, not sure why you think he sucks. |

I'm basing this on the fact that every other hockey prospect rankings, such as The Hockey News, Craig Button, and Pierre McGuire, rank multiple other centres ahead of Poelhing as a prospect. Most of which were drafted in 2017. Poelhing is a good prospect, but no prospect evaluator but Brandon see's him as a #1 centre.
But hey if you'd rather have Poelhing over the other centres in that draft (Hischier, Patrick, Pettersson, Glass, Andersson, Mittelstadt, Vilardi, Necas, Suzuki, Thomas, etc.), than that can be your baseless opinion |

Poelhing doesn't suck. He might end up being a 2nd line centre. Which given where he was drafted is a good pick. He just isn't an elite prospect compared to his peers. |
