Larsson

/Lahr sun/

Noun

extremely or distressingly bad hockey player for the Buffalo Sabres.

synonyms: dreadful, awful, appalling, horrific, horrifying, horrible, horrendous, atrocious, abominable, deplorable, egregious, abhorrent, hideous, ghastly, unspeakable

Pretty much his only redeeming quality is he's a pest that does ok at drawing penalties, but when you only play 8 minutes, or whatever, a night it kind of blunts the effectiveness of that.

He had that one nice season with Foligno and Gionta. 17 p is his career high. Time to try something new

Michael Pachla: What's in store for Shady McCoy? Taking a page out of the ROR handbook, he vows to "be better"

or simply more ror:

Something doesn’t add up in the trade of O’Reilly, so is it Berglund, Sobotka or both? https://theathletic.com/4...berglund-sobotka-or-both/

after some subjectivity and stats, here's the conclusion--"I don’t agree with the move or the return and think Botterill might regret it sooner rather than later."

Here's my question: if we finish 26th, what happens?

More broadly, what does a sub-mediocre season mean for management?

depends upon why they finished where they did

Vancouver's 73 points got them to 26th last season...most early projections have the sabres a bit higher than that somewhere in the upper-70's to mid 80's

I'd like to know why you think the Sabres should keep larsson

I'm pretty sure he just wants something to argue about

To be fair, the writer is new to the Sabres. He was just hired by the athletic.

I like his work so far, but he hasn’t the slightest clue what we’ve endured the past three seasons

I just don’t think people who have been outside this city really realize how toxic this team has been

There is such a thing as being too close, too.

Edit: By that I mean every little thing gets amplified because we're so close to it.

Heard a rumor we asked about Duchene. Good or bad move?

Duchene will not be resigning in Ottawa.

No offer yet, just inquiring.

I don't think we know how toxic it was either.
The media talks in vague tones about it during the last two seasons.
It wasn't until RORs & JBotts comments at the end of the season that caused more direct reports by the media to emerge. ROR vs Eichel, Larsson, Lehner, Risto as uncoachable, blah, blah, blah.

And some portion don't believe it all, it has been expressed on here for instance.

Well, he would out produce EK9 at he same price as EK last year. Expect 25-30 G and 30sh A's.
He's a UFA next season, so if they did re-sign him they would be looking at 7x7 at age 28-1/2.

I struggle with signing premiere UFAs as the out years on the contracts are usually quite crappy.
I'm torn, but probably prefer a younger player to fit the age of the core....those are expensive in terms of assets..

Good move to ask, but hard to imagine it happening. They just aren't in a good position to pay the price of the trade and extension for a C.

The most toxic franchise in all of sports(North America anyway) is the New England Patriots, yet guys still flock there. Toxicity only matters when you're losing.

Belichick routinely embarrasses players in front of everyone, for no reason other than to show "who's boss".

Only recently have we heard from guys whose careers are basically over how much of an bumhole Belichick is, but they win, so guys will tolerate it.

Your the one that said he would be claimed. He wouldn’t. No one wants him.

By you saying he would be claimed means some team would want him. If that’s the case Botts should of gave him away already. He hasn’t because no one wants him, so that dude is right, okposo can go through waivers and no one will claim him.

- Fattony1187

Your making huge assumptions with nothing to back that up

And to the original point...
Botts isn’t gonna send him down to Rochester anyways

I look differently at a) player on player toxicity, then b) a coach, who btw who has proven to be the greatest of the last 20 -30 years in his sport, inscisting on excellence, commitment to winning first and self second, and doing it his proven way...and it works.

But, to each their own.

It was a rare confluence of great coaching with all-time elite quarterback play. I look forward to its inevitable demise, and I look forward to Jimmy Garoppolo making them look dumb after Brady retires next year. I really look forward to their irrelevance in the coming decade

It's strange how jimmi g is ranked really high on the nfl top 100 also.

What did he play, 5 games?

I'm not sold either

Yeah, neither am I yet, but the signs look good. I think the next QB on the NE depth chart is Hoyer though, so I feel great about that
