Most of us here would give our left nut for a job like that.
So we got a Finn, a Norway and I'm Danish... You guys wanna bury some dead fish and dig it up and eat it for the playoffs? Cause I could party. - Zezel

Wow you can type it in their crazy moon-man language and everything. I've never been over there but I might go next summer, bike around Copenhagen. I really want to try the hot dogs.

Copenhagen in the spring/summer is f'n great. Been there lots of times.
It is a solid read. Shows what kind of guy JT is and what this all meant to him.
Everyone knows they are ghostwritten, but ghostwriters simply help less literary gifted individuals express themselves in written format. It's still essentially Tavares' thoughts and feelings, with a little help to make it look more professional.
There's a lot of good stuff in there to show to either UG or all the raging Isles fans that have been female doging about what a snake JT is and how he knew all along he wasn't resigning and purposely screwed them over lol.
Which is why I want to say this as deliberately and as clearly as possible: In no way had I made up my mind yet, as far as where I was signing, before I took those free-agency meetings.
In no way.
Has it been a boyhood dream of mine to play for the Leafs? I’d be lying if I said it hasn’t. And was realizing that dream a major factor in my ultimately choosing to sign with the Leafs — even over a franchise that, like I said, in many ways raised me? It was a major factor, yes. But it wasn’t my entire decision. And anyone who claims it was … I’ll just say that they must not know me at all.
- John Tavares
I think GreatGig already posted the part where he said the Leafs were contenders. UG will love that.

He'll either ignore it or claim he knows better. He always does.
I am hopeful going into this season. These guys gotta mesh together, and hopefully they will. The team lost 7 guys and we can argue that some were plugs, but JVR and Bozzie were part of this team for a while so Im sure its going to feel different in the room and possible even take a few games to get their groove on. The team seems pumped tho. I hope the contract talks of all 3 could get out of the way too, just another distraction.
Jake Gardiner, needs to stop having brain farts on the ice.

Well you could even see during the presser JT was still emotional about it...and in the article there was a valid point, that he was 27 and this was his one shot within his control to make a difference somewhere...so this tells you, yeah he really is a leaf fan and he's seen what this frachise has done in the past of getting people/players usually way past their prime to be truly effective.
Also, him being of european decent (half portuguese) as a porkchop myself, I can tell you that its a pretty common peronality trait to be an extreme loyalist. Heck, Ive worked for the same organization (and continue to today) twice now. When I resigned the first time, I got a tad emotional with the boss when I resgined, kind of caught me off gaurd. What was cool tho is the individual got up put his hand on my shoulder and said: "this just speaks volumes of your character. Go, learn new things. You will always have a place here" .and the kicker here is I was going to work for a startup company whos founders were from a company that gave me my start in my career...and I went for less money, but I knew this was short term and it would later pay off from the expirience gained, and it has. I evetually went back to the other place, no interview just a few phone calls and I had a job offer few weeks later.
JTs presser was genuine you could see it, he was excited yet torn. He's a good guy and Im stoked he is a leaf, and I knew uggie was wrong this time about JT. But will agree with him that this is typically not the norm, but not because of taxes.
