Not much to talk about lately with the Wild. Thanks Dan for your insight on the Prospects camp. I was able to watch a little bit of the first scrimmage online and saw FJ score his goal. It was a tad difficult sitting at work trying to watch on a small screen while trying to be busy (or at least look like it). I did watch a video on Sokolov as well in a 2 on 2 drill. Yeah, his hands look great, but this league is/has moved to a lot of skating, so time will tell on him.

I will be the first to say it out loud...but I am getting a tad nervous that there is really no news on the Zucker and Dumba contracts. Probably 2 of the more important pieces to the future of the Wild, and there is nothing done yet. This isn't a good sign.

Just ran the numbers, assuming Greenway makes the opening day roster (I don't expect Kunin for opening day), and resigning Zucker & Dumba to something around $11 mil total...the Wild should be sitting at $2,995,576 in cap space. And they would be at 22 players. So I am not really sure what the hold up is, unless Zucker is asking for around $6.5 mil or more. I'm really thinking that $5.2 a year for each is well within reason for both the team and the players. If they did that, that would put the Wild around $3.5 in cap space.

Agreed, neither of them have really done enough to warrant $6 mill per. Although I'm sure their agents are arguing that other teams would be willing to 6+

You know, I seem to recall hearing Zucker a month or so back saying that money wasn't everything on this contract. If I remember correctly (I wish I could find where I read the quote), he said that he WANTED to stay in MN and that he basically would take a discounted rate, as long as the length was good. Of course, he could have been just playing the game and blowing smoke up our...place where smoke is not supposed to be blown.
