Goalies are riskier than any other player as they age. They can hit their wall at any time. This is clearly an overpayment, but at least it's not a six or seven year contract.

I'm still a fan of Fleury and think he's much better than many think. He may not have been the Pens' official #1 during their last two cup runs, but the first one they won with Murray? Fleury was a huge part of the Pens turning that season around and was playing some of his best hockey before he got injured.

Fleury also flashed briliance, or as Tanner calls it, "luck" in the second of the back-to-back. Now, do I think he'll repeat this past season? No, but I'm still expecting a good season. Fleury seems to have found his mental game and I think he'll be solid until the last day of his contract.

He led his team way farther than they had any right to go

Sure, it was all Fleury....oh wait, how do we explain the weeks when he was injured;oh and then the weeks when the backup was injured and they were still winning games with the 3 string guy...must've been all luck?!

Any team that makes it to the SCF has EVERY right to be there

I mean Goalies are risky at any age. Too often do we ee goalies have great seasons and the follow them up with poor seasons.
