Also something to keep an eye on is the number of pro contracts Buffalo has. After the Sabres sign Reinhart and Smith they'll have used up 49 of the 50 standard player contracts allowed by the NHL. Something's got to give as that's not a lot of wiggle room heading into the season.

Sounds like this is an upcoming blog, but it's the most interesting thing going on right now with the Sabres to me. The redundancies and depth at both the forward and d ranks is odd. We're going to lose some guys to waivers if nothing is done. Either that, or some of the best players available will be sent down due to eligibility (Guhle).

Seeing as this is cabin-on-the-lake season, I doubt any of this is resolved soon. Maybe it'll wait until training camp, and some guys get moved if there are injuries on other teams

Their pick is top 10 protected. Best case scenario for us is if they fall short in the playoff race and pick 11th. I’m not quite sold on that Blues team even with the additions of ROR and Bozak. Their division is strong with Nashville/Winnipeg leading the charge. Minnesota/Dallas will be better this year as well. Central division will be interesting to follow this year.

I love how Botts has signed and brought in alot of wingers. Alot of them appear to be bottom 6 guys/ fringe AHLers. Hopefully we see some guys take full opportunity given to them to take some top 6 spots.
