I would not sign Lowry for anything more than 2 years!

Also, Pete, are you coming out with all of us Jets posters in early September?

How many years until Trouba is a UFA?

That is how long he will sign for.

I disagree with you PETE,
Trouba will only sign for 4 or 5 but because he honestly believes he is elite and sees other D signing for 8+ per year so he won’t sign a 7 year deal that he feels will greatly under value him in 2-3 years. I have no problem with his line of thinking. They won’t come to terms on a 6-8 year deal so they will settle around 6mil x 4 years or 6.5 mil x 5 years. My guess anyways. It’s very important to have his next deal expire while still in his twenties, if he wants to maximize It.

He is a UFA in two years but there is zero chance the jets give him a two year deal and walk into free agency. If they can not agree he will goto arbitration and the jets will choose the one year option to buy more time to either sign long term or trade him where his new team would still have time and control to lock him up long term

2 year bridge for Morrisey
2 year deal for Lowry
0 year deal for Trouba. He'll be traded, or sign and trade. Over rated IMHO.

He's held out once before, I don't think he's against doing it a second time.

Agreed. The kid skates like a majestic Gazelle, but 5 seasons deep, certainly not a shut down D, and a career high 32 points doesn't scream superstar to me. Love his skating and size, but not at any contract over 6M per. Dumba is rumored to be in the 4.5-5M range and he is coming off a 50 point season. Nurse is coming off a 26 point season and will likely be in the neighborhood of 3.5 per. So why is Trouba rumored to be so over-valued???? Chev knows what he is doing. Wouldn't suprise me if he traded meyers for a decent pick, or pay someone to take Kulikov, as he did with Mason. Chevy won't over pay for Trouba. Kinda want to see a few D shipped out, just to see what Poolman and Niku are capable of.

The biggest issue with Trouba is durability. His point totals are lower due to fewer games, less minutes/game and almost no PP time. He produces as well as any d 5v5 when viewed / 60 minutes. 5.5 - 6.25 for a 4 year, Buff money for longer term.

If they agree on 6-8 years it will be in the 7-8m range. I am betting on about 4 years around 5.5m

Lets hope that 5.5 is his max. Your right about his injuries being a stat crippling factor, but is that a good thing? He seems to be on the IR alot. Like I said, I love his skating and size, but please not Buff money. That guy puts up 45 plus points a season while scaring opponents every night. And save some money for Morrissey. That kid is Enstrom 2.0, new and improved.

That’s his option but jets won’t trade him for some low ball offer if he does, they have already proven they wont panic.

He puts up the same points as buff 5v5 and more than Myers while playing 30 games less. There are only 5 D that put up more points 5v5 if you look at points per minutes. He got zero pp time. He plays against the other teams top players game in and game out and shelters buff and Myers from having to. What else can I say? He is our best D by a mile.

Trouba skates and plays like Randy Carlyle. Good skating, 2-way player, always with a smirk and a little bit of nastiness. and wears #8

I am not suggesting he is going to win a Norris in 2019 but it is still in his potential with continued development and some good health.

Pete. Your numbers are too low. I wish they will be what you predict but the reality is your at least 15% too low.

geez I didn't even confirm I would be attending and suddenly I am the host.

There was talk of Ross putting together a hockey draft for the festivities...

What's the hold up with Trouba contract? If Chevy will give Bogosian 7 years with a cap hit of 5.124 m back in 2013, how hard is it to write a contract with Trouba? You have Seth Jones as comparable and a few others that seem to indicate mid fives to low 6's, you would think that this is a deal that should be able to get done.
