On topic, what do you think of the instigator penalty (sorry if you've already been through this)? Do you think players should have to answer for dubious hits? Should they have to accept an invitation for grubby behaviour - for example most poop that Marchand gets away with?
I think Wilson should have accepted the Oleksiak challenge after Wilson broke ZAR's jaw. He hunts to do damage & doesn't have to answer for it. I think it would actually clean certain aspects of the game up. Back in your day I'm sure Wilson wouldn't have had the opportunity to say 'no thanks'?? |

Does anyone really like the instigator rule? I'm not sure with the way the game is played now, the heavy fighters would return if they changed the rule. There would arguably be less cheap shots (no Im not saying déterrants would be a thing), if the Oleksiaks or the Reaves of the world could punch on without fear of incurring the instigator penalty & there may be less crap as well - no more face licking. |
