For the wrap play? Sure, just throw JVR in there, switch the puck to Jake's side, and you can do the same play. Jake is perfectly capable of making that play.

You could do that then it's much easier to pressure Giroux on the half wall who the puck funnels through on the PP. JVR is a much better choice to play the high slot position that Couturier played in last year.

Personally I will not hold an eviscerated hockeybuzz poster such as YinglingYager.

Sean Couturier has a lot of success last season because he was playing a lot of important minutes. Starter on the PK, high slot on the PP, number one center. I don’t see Coots with the same production this coming season because of the JvR signing. JvR is likely to take over Coot’s spot on the PP as you mentioned. It’s more up JvR’s alley. One of those responsibilities was likely to be taken away and that’s likely it.

I’m not saying Giroux should go back to center but I think it’s a possibility that shouldn’t be ruled out. I think Giroux, Voracek and van Riemsdyk could be deadly 5 on 5 in the offensive zone. It’s definitely an upgrade over a Giroux, Voracek and Raffl line. When game is on the line, I would want those 3 out there and probably Simmonds as the fourth forward to replace the goalie.

I think they'll keep simmer on the top unit and put JVR where coots was. And then coots gets the same spot on pp 2 and NoPa gets net front duties with hopefully TK running it from the side boards like G does

add in that Coot in the last playoff game, on 1 leg carried his and the team. There is a case to let Coots be the man.

Never said there wasn’t a case to allow Coots to be the man but when you’re a team looking to acquire depth a center, you gotta consider options in house.

I think first losing streak you see it happen

If you play with it, you can move it around but I have to say that something close too option two looks better. I actually would like Simmnds on the 3rd line as a prove it line. I think all three of them have something to prove and I like their chances of doing it.

I’m hoping Simmer is traded, not because I don’t respect the many things he brings to the team. Simply I fear the ROI on his next contract and value what he could bring in a trade over that ROI. Calgary seems like a good trading partner for Philly.

WHat would you look for in return with Calgary when trading Simmonds?

I don’t even wanna think about a deal for Simmonds. I know many of us are on different sides of the line but in my opinion Simmonds makes us better. Trading Simmonds makes us the same team as last year. Get the idea of Patrick being the new net presence out of your heads. You want Patrick on the half wall. Hopefully Patrick can help run the second unit.

Why with his passing ability and vision why would you want him at the net front position? I want him on the half wall distributing the puck and running the 2nd unit.
