Why can’t you see that Roslovic will be our number 2 Center by Christmas? It’s very clear to me.

The top line of Scheifele, Wheeler and Connor is set and the second line should be Laine, Ehlers centered by Roslovic. The 3rd line could be Little, Appleton and Perreault, with a 4th line of Lowry, Tanev and Lemieux. If Veselainen, and Petan look like they are ready to play its time to look at trading Perreault Copp and even Little as the return on this package of players would be great. I just can't see Maurice startiing the season with possibly Poolman, Niku, Appleton Lemieux and Veselainen all in the line-up, even though they are younger, cheaper, faster and other than Little more skilled. Whats the use in embracing the draft and develop philosophy if you don't play your players when their ready.

Yup that looks great to me. I hated that Little extension the second it was signed. Hopefully he can be moved and internal depth can handle the role, bc Little has shown to be a turnover machine that can't win faceoffs.

Because he did not play much C the past year and Maurice has trust issues and is very patient that way. I hope he does but I'm not going to be surprised if he doesn't.

Where is Copp? Why would you break up Lowry Copp Tanev?

Let’s get a few things out of the way here:
1: Lemieux and Appleton are not making the team. Lemieux is riding name value alone at this point, and Appleton isn’t ready (he struggled any time he was without Petan).
2: Niku likely gets screwed out of a roster spot. Kulikov is un-movable, Morrow is safe as he just signed, and Mo loves Cheerios.
3: No Vesalainen. Unless he blows the doors off in camp, he will not be in the NHL this season. He’s 19, and looks like another Wheeler. Give him time.
4: The backup job will be a fun fight to watch. Don’t expect Comrie to win over Brooioiossioit, but expect it to be a fun side competition.
5: Here’s the ideal lineup:
Petan-Scheifele-Laine Morrissey-Trouba
Perreault-Little-Ehlers Niku-Byfuglien
Connor-Roslovic-Wheeler Poolman-Myers
Copp-Lowry-Dano Morrow
Tanev
6: Here’s the Maurice lineup:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler Morrissey-Trouba
Laine-Little-Ehlers Myers-Byfuglien
Perreault-Roslovic-Petan Kulikov-Morrow
Copp-Lowry-Tanev Chiarot
Dano

Copp has been passed in skill and speed and affordability by Lemieux on the 4th line and Appleton, Petan and Vesalainen on the 3rd line. I like Copp but he has been given a few years on the Jets and hasn't shown that much growth. Its time for the Jets to move on. The main reason he will be an the roster is Maurice and his loyalty to his vets.

He’s defensively excellent, works incredibly well with Lowry, and is the offensive play driver on the TLC line. He’s also an ace faceoff man. He’s lost no ground whatsoever, especially not to Brendan Lemieux.

*edit* I went back and checked. His production has also improved every season. He’s safe.

Interesting lineup - I am ok with it as an experiment but each of those forward lines raises questions: why mess with a line as good as the Connor/Sheif/Wheeler line? defensive responsibilty?, wheeler&connor from 1st to third?, petan from press box to 1st?, flip line 2&3 maybe? maybe your 3rd line is the best 1st line. (we are well aware of the case you make for Dano)

Those aren't defensive pairs Maurice would use, simply because of handedness. He may go Morrow-Buff and Kulikov Myers with Niku in press box, however, I think Niku is going to play, likely with Buff. Morrow will be the 4th left d, poolman the 4th right d. Niku may not be on the season opener lineup - the vets will be in for that.

defence will be as follows

right side Buff, Meyers, Poolman
left side Morrow, Morrisey, Kulikov

extra will be Chairot (he can play both sides. First call up will be Niku
TROUBA WILL BE TRADED BEFORE YEAR'S START.

My bad. 56 is pretty impressive. I just noticed Statsny getting the majority of important faceoffs. Still not enough to make me a Little fan tho

My goal on offence was to have an even top 3 lines, all splitting equal ice, with a playmaker, a sniper, and a play driver on every line. That, and letting the Lowry-Copp unit take the hard assignments without pressure to produce.

I’ve also split up Scheifele and Wheeler as they do more for us when they’re running their own lines. I’ve recently seen some evidence suggesting they’re actually slightly better apart. You’re getting less out of them together as they don’t do anything to elevate each other, but BOTH can bring other players up to their level.
The same goes for having Perreault carry a 4th line with two plugs. He can carry a line ,with limited minutes, kicking and screaming to success, but it’s not the smart move. More Perreault on the ice means more goals.

So, my solution is spread the wealth.
Playmakers: Petan, Little, Roslovic
Scorers: Laine, Ehlers, Connor
Play drivers: Scheifele, Perreault, Wheeler
Keep KC and Wheeler together because chemistry, put Laine with Scheifele because best player, shelter Petan and Roslovic on strong lines, and let Matty and Nik carry Little to tradeability

Edit* Also, yeah. Those pairings will never happen for me. Niku and Poolman get screwed, Morrow and Chiarot somehow both stay, and Myers gets exposed again.

You can actually be a fan of Little while also despising his contract. That’s the camp I’m in. Just putting it out there.

If Trouba is traded for not a top pairing guy (or even a roster dman? Jesus, dude), we’re a bubble team. If JoMo and Buff are together in your world, that’s two pairings with Poolman alone on defence.

I'm pretty sure you'll see Roslovic as a second line center for a good part of this season. That would then put Little on the third line and Lowry on the fourth. I would also not rule out Connor and Roslovic as a tandem if he doesn't end up fitting well with Laine and Ehlers.

BTW. I was hanging with a couple of current NHL players the other day..from several teams. One topic of conversation was P.K. Would they want him on their team? The answers from the three were No, definitely not, and not a chance as he's a complete distraction. I won't go into any further details on that. I'm pretty sure that no NHL dressing room would want him which means Nashville is stuck with him for quite some time. My guess would be that even the Nashville players are already tired of his act and he will be a growing cancer on the team chemistry. Time will tell.

I travel to Montreal often for work and subban being a locker room idiot is as widely spread there as Bogo and coke was here. If that’s worth anything???

hahaha - no, I have never heard him call someone a liar (sorry PK for implying that and for the following). I was seeing a parallel with on-line dumbass behaviour and alleged dumbass dressing room behaviour.

I honestly can’t see how anyone could dislike PK when he’s not on the ice and playing not for your team.

I can't argue with you on that. He is original, entertaining, generous, upbeat. His soccer act is embarrassing and that wouldn't sit well with teammates. It's likely that there were other issues in that Montreal room that were equal to or more significant and PK is a polarizing target.
