I'm now a huge fan of your cat and you better vacuum the basement or your mom might take away that cardboard cutout of Auston Matthews you sleep with. |

I suspect they'll finish at the bottom of the league again but one day your predictions for them will come to fruition for you |

Who cares? I will have fun watching them, and if it's not entirely clear to anyone who's read this column before that the last thing I care about is 'being right,' then I don't know what to tell you. |

As much as it pains me to agree with Tanner, if they stay healthy I see them pushing for a playoff spot this year.

Oh, so all of the OEL bashing (signing long-term) was actually baseless given that the team is improving...as many suspected. |

Not sure what you mean here, I don't recall anyone bashing the OEL signing. I believe I am quoting myself when I say it was the best day in franchise history. |

I hope you're right.. the truth is that for them to stand a chance:
Vegas will have to go full 18 wheeler off a cliff.
LA and Anaheim need to feel the effects of their core aging and fall out of contention.
Edmonton will need to be down and out again.. which would be hilarious and probably cost chia his job (finally).
Calgary is something of an enigma
... and Vancouver needs to continue a rebuild.
This is the weaker division in the west, and will probably only send their top 3 teams to the playoffs.. were poised to see an improvement, but a top 3 divisional finish? Not so sure.

I actually think this might be the NHL's best overall division. The Coyotes, Oilers and Flames will all be good. LA SJ and Anaheim all reasonably expect to make the playoffs. The Knights are not what they showed last year, but they won't suck either. Best division in hockey, easily.
WPG Nash and Dallas will be the only central teams to make the playoffs

Just one question? Does the carpet match the drapes? |

The team that finished dead last in the west and has 20% of it's payroll committed to players who are no longer on the team or will never play - is set to have its best season ever. Can you say low expectations? |

Why are you the only blogger who writes blogs so he can turn the comments into a chat room. Write the blog. Then vacuum. Write another blog if you need to hear yourself talk. |

I feel like with the yotes, I'm always gonna end up thinking "what if?"
Marner over Strome
Zadina over Hayton
It's not pure hindsight here either since those were 2 contentious picks.
I'm still giving Chayka the benefit of the doubt with Hayton and obviously he didn't make the Strome selection, but damn their lineup would look lethal with Marner and Zadina right now. Obviously unfair of me to assume that they still pick as high as they did this year with Marner in the lineup, but just for fun:
Keller - Stepan - Marner
Zadina - Galchenyuk - Panik
Perlini - Dvorak - Fischer
Grabner - Richardson - Hinostroza
OEL - Demers
Chychrun - Hjalarmarsson
Connauton - Goligoski |

A clinic, ha!!!!
Glad you gave up the Caps, it was weird that you bashed them constantly even though they have been the #1 team in the league for years and constantly praised the fire tire that the Coyotes are...but hey, it is what it is!!!

To early to tell if they made the right picks but as for Strome over Marner, its pretty hard to pass up the 6'6 #1 C. for a winger. |

In other good news, I am returning to cover the Coyotes full time here at Hockeybuzz. - james_tanner1
Good decision, always easy to read (and to see with your several "side-blogs"...) that your heart is with the Coyotes... hell, i even called you the biggest Coyote of all, but only for your motivation. Looking forward for your blogs, and especially the comments-sections... The two Caps-fans here on hockeybuzz don't even deserve a blog anyways... |
