2022 2nd - corduroy
The proposed deal is at least interesting enough for further considerations and will be twittered by Garth to Mr. Botterill... still, is a 2022 draft pick tradeable this year?!

Risto for McDavid. Chiarelli would do it. |

Yup, just what Edm needs - a couple of washouts from the 31st team in the league.

Beaulieu and Redmond?? WTF |
|
|
|
The Jets Trouba may be available for the right price, but it would be costly. RNH alone would not do it as the Jets aren't desperate for an expensive #2 center. A cheaper option could be Myers, but in the NHL right shot d-men are at a premium. |

Chiarelli can get Beaulieu and Redmond for a second rounder and a top nine forward.
We aren’t getting a second round pick and a top 9 forward for an awful defenseman in Beaulieu and an AHL defenseman in Redmond. |

Ristolainen, first overall pick Rasmus Dahlin, Brendan Guhle, Marco Scandella, Zach Bogosian, Jake McCabe, Casey Nelson, Nathan Beaulieu, and Matt Hunwick.
Yup - other than Dahlin and Hunwick its the same cast that was over matched last season ..... and Garth overhyped last off season. - The Looper
Ristolainen is easily a top 2 defender.
Dahlin is the next Lidstrom/Karlsson
Those two are better than the entire defense corps of the Red Wings.
Nelson is coming into his own
McCabe is actually pretty good. Played with a bad shoulder last season.
Scandella is very underrated.
We also have Guhle who is going to be Jacob Trouba in a couple seasons.
We also have Borgen and Samuelsson waiting in the wings |

Reggie Sekera??? It's been like 1 whole day since you posted a tweet that you wrote to pass off as someone else in your silly blog. I was kinda hoping that Twitter suspended your account for fake news thinking it was linked to Infowars. Oh and The Sabres only have one player on their roster that would be worthy of a trade for Draisaitl and its Rasmus Dahlin. I wouldn't give up a 2022 3rd pick for Beaulieu... |

This has to be Garf's burner account because no other person could post nonsense like this and actually believe it.

Jack Eichel > Draisaitl
Also Mittelstadt is in the same neck of the woods, probably a calder candidate this year. |

Guhle isn't Trouba and Borgen/Samuelsson are years away if they even make it. Still, our D corps should be better with a full year of Guhle, Dahlin's presence and a more equal share of minutes. Risto's less than stellar performance thus far is partially because he is asked to do way too much.
Not sure it was so far off as to garner this response. Risto could be a solid 2, Dahlin is talked about as one of the next great defenders and Scandella/McCabe may have more to give...we had a lot of injuries to that group last year including McCabe who has historically been a healthy player.
Scandella - Risto
Guhle - Nelson
Gorges - Antipin
I believe that was opening night pairings, or that's what they were in late October when I just looked anyways.
Scandella Dahlin
Guhle Risto
McCabe Nelson
Bogo
I'm of the mind that we will be better defensively next year with these changes, just nothing great. Middle of the pack, we'll be picking around 10-12 next season instead of 1-8. It isn't great, but with Pilut and Borgen showing promise, there is reason to think we're on an upwards trajectory. |

My point was that I don't see a whole lot of difference in their games right now. Draisaitl and Eichel are a wash IMO. So to say that to get Risto the Oilers would have to start an offer with Draisaitl and RNH is just down right insane and dumb. I agree that Middelstadt is going to be a great player but he has to play a game first.
