Having heard many of Pelle’s self deprecating interviews when he was playing.. he would most likely be like “ so, what took so long?” |

Those mid 80’s teams were so much fun to be a part of as a fan, they were young and entertaining. For a small guy, which was not uncommon back then, Lindbergh was a pretty agile and that mask was so old school

What are the requirements by Flyers standards to stay loyal to a number? - SuperSchennBros
The Flyers' credo: "We play for the name on the crest, not the front on the back." |

As far as I know, other than the retired numbers, the only one that the team asks players to not wear is Pelle's 31. |

Yeah, after all, most of the Flyers' staff and all of their players have been men, and men don't ever have emotional attachments to anything. |

Let's be realistic, does Carter Hart really care that much about wearing number 31...probably not. Why force a non-issue. |

Carter Hart has to win a Vezina and lead the Flyers to the SCF, AND THEN he can wear #31. |

We do but that doesnt make it any less stupid. Hell some people name their cars, including myself. I still understand it is stupid to do so. |

I'd be disappointed if I couldnt wear my #52. It is like a part of me. |

Or he can wear another number to define his own identity. |

Exactly, 31 is not a part of Carter Hart. |

Have the Flyers ever created a don't drink and drive initiative? |

Possibly, but not a public campaign that I am aware of. To be honest it should be a standard practice now a days that shouldn't need too much attention. |

Being sentimental is dumb, if you're a guy. Remember, men don't really love or care for their children. |

Yes, but the dude's men's league number is part of his immortal soul, apparently. |

let him wear it as maybe he brings some stability. No harm really.
Move to the future. He has been “honored” long enough. |
