It's playoffs of bust for Eichel, Dahlin and the Sabres. There is no reason why the Sabres can't be the 2018-19 equivalent of the 2017-18 New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche who dug themselves out of the cellar and earned playoff berths respectively.

He has said this every year since he could talk. I also bookmarked this blog cuz when they are 30 points out at the deadline I will be happy to bring this up. Before people flip out I will say they have done a great job to change the team and bring in young players. Now those players have to show up and play...

Disagree with the last point. Too many unrealistic expectations on the kids as it is. Eichel and Reinhart need to step up for 82 games, but the rest just need to practice their trade and show improvement.

It's funny when Garth's typos change the meaning of his text. For example:

I guess just making the playoffs would be a great accomplishment for the Sabres (and would point to a brighter future) but every team's goal should be to win the Cup in the current season no matter how "stacked" or "unstacked" they are - not just make the playoffs. Having a "playoffs of bust" should not be the team's highest aim .

Kinda disagree. Yeah, for the players and coaches, winning every game and the cup should be the goal, but as an organization there is a time to strike and a time to bide your time...Sabres are a couple years away from doing anything Tim Murray-ish

This just in, the Norris trophy will be officially changed the Dahlin trophy pending a vote by the NHL Board Of Governors.

Anyone that has grandeur visions of our Hawks making a playoff run and/or cup run is either drunk or doing to much blow....

IMO the tear down needs to occur before getting back to the promised land from 08-15.... which won’t happen until blowman is fired and the franchise has a shake up
