According to Newell Brown he can do what Kesler did and better. I am not a Brown fan. If the PP struggles to start he gone.

lol...out of the previous players you mentioned only Leipsic (with the right amount of TOI) could supplant Schaller. Schaller scored 12 goals on the fourth line in BOS last year with limited TOI/role. Gaudette and Dahlen don't even have 10 NHL games between them. Goldy is another story and will be relied upon to provide other than what Schaller brings. Schaller was brought here for a reason and will literally have to play his way off the club for now. His spot is secure.

He had a top ten PP last year with one of the lowest scoring teams in the league. He must have been doing something right.

Like I said that's the only possibility I can see. But Leipsic will need almost top 6 minutes to do it. Carol mentioned previously in a blog that with much more TOI Leipsic could be a 15-18 goal guy. Lots of intangibles though. Gaudette, Dahlen and yes Goldy have alot to prove at this level. Schaller played a full 82 games last season and was pretty solid for his role overall.

Then let's put together a package for EK and Ryan now. Tanev plus any 3 of those guys.

I would send Pettersson down too to the Comets. We could lose Granlund Gagner and Gaunce otherwise to waivers.

On the bright side Demko established himself as an elite NHL goalie in less than 3 years

I think if Gaunce can score a career high 5 goals this year with his expiring contract we should move him at TDL. His value may never be higher.

Of course he did

Ottawa has 3 players signed for more than 2 years . Gaborik hasn't been cleared to play and will miss this year and Ryan will probably be moved leaving one contract.

This would be a perfect team for Vitsy to follow . He surely can't female dog about one player only being signed longer can two years? Can he?

You guys really need to cool it on Dahlen being on the team........he won't be. He basically needs to outscore everyone in preseason to make it. It was a top prospects tournament guys, use some perspective.

Unless Leipsic and Goldobin poop the bed, JD and AG go down. Its a numbers thing. There is no urgency to have them up either. They'll be called up permanently at some point during the year . We don't want to be the Edmonton Oilers - dont rush the kids!!!!!

very hopeful for the future with the prospects, but more seasoning please.

Showing well in camp shouldn't be the same as having earned a spot. a players larger body of work has to be considered.
