Then how do you justify a PP that was 29th in the league?
- thundachunk

The PP was good last year. With Henrik as the PP QB they had some good success by incorporating more puck movement and Boeser on the off-wing with his wicked RH shot.

I heard that it's Hughes, OJ, Tanev and the 2019 1st.

I heard it’s Boeser, Hughes, unprotected 2019 1st, 2020 2nd.

Lets face it, boeser reinvigorated the PP. Having a shot from the top of the circle/blue line that actually made it through was the reason our PP had the success it did.

So important to have that big right shot instead of five left shot guys. They moved the puck laterally more last year as well.

I think adding Pettersson to the PP will help but ultimately we are still void of a good PP quarterback dman.

I'm actually sitting ten feet from James Duthie and Bob McKenzie, they're just boarding a flight to Toronto from Saskatoon, I should ask them but I don't want to bother them.

He's played one decent/full season on a stacked Boston team, he's 27, he's got as much to prove as Granlund, Gagner, Leipsic, Gaudette and Goldy. Depth signing that shouldn't be guaranteed anything. I hope he works out but temper your expectation. Some hoped Burmistrov would work out, look how that turned out.
- Brooks_Light

As much as Granlund/Gagner? Sure I'll give you that. But you mentioned tempered expectations. We also need to back off on rushing the kids a bit. The only one that could 'pull a Boeser' potentially is Pettersson. When Gaudette, Dahlen, Leipsic, Goldy and a few other kids play a full 82 and show a bit of consistency like Schaller did then sure...bump him down the depth chart. For now there is no reason to believe Shcaller's spot is not secure.

Burmi sure had some expectations coming in but his numbers were trending down for 3-4 seasons.

Schaller's arent. See where it goes.

My hope is to have boeser and pettersson play opposite ends of the top of the circles. Horvat to play in the slot. Maybe Erickson to play net front. And pick any D who wont be able to adequately play PP quarterback to play the blue line.

No sh!t, and a couple of the usual clowns are suggesting we waive Schaller and Beagle to make room for the kids. Schaller isn’t going anywhere and the kids can earn their callups Fromm utica.
- CanuckDon

As much as I want the kids to play they need to earn their spots and not have them gifted because of 'a good summer camp' in Pentiction lol.

Beagle, Roussell and Schaller are proven NHL'ers. Sure give their 4th line status I'm sure some of the kids will bump them down eventually...just expectations are too high for the kids.
