.@rayferrarotsn: I think (the #Canucks) could have beaten it easily.....but say Karlsson doesn't sign, San Jose can feel comfortable that they didn't decimate the top of their prospect pool. I don't think Vancouver should be taking chances for one year

Then Benning can start looking for a new job.

What happens if it is Virtanen that doesn’t make the team and Benning wants to send him to Utica?

I am going to get Dragon to smack the next person that asks that
- VANTEL

don't know why it even needs being asked, we dont have many options there. Horvat is the obvious and perhaps only choice

maybe even no captain for this year

Can Sanjose afford him after this season? Even with Big joe off the books they have to move another big money player. The window is closing for their core imo. If he is extended they know someone has to move.

The real question is how does Melker feel about having another Karlsson on the team?

Clearly no one is worried about loosing Gaunce and his 5 goals to waivers. I was just wondering how upset you would be if Benning was true to his word, and created space for a young player by waiving Virtanen to send him to Utica?

This is a really stupid post Vinty. I try and be patient with you as I like you and enjoy the back and forth banter. But come on man? What’s the difference between losing Gaunce and Virt? Well one has trade value for starters. Never lose an asset via waivers that is tradable. You can reclaim a pick for virtanen in a flash and nobody would relinquish an asset for Gaunce.

It’s that simple. I don’t need to waste anymore time explaining what they can potentially bring to the hockey club. Also, Jake is 22 not 24. He is still a young player lol. Bday Aug 1996!

Both of the Joes are UFA at the end of the season, that’s $11m right there. And between Burns, Karlsson and Vlassic they really only need a bit of filler on the back end...

If Virtanen isn’t good enough to make this team you think he will have much trade value at a time when everyone is pairing down their rosters? You don’t think Virtanen is in the same boat as Granlund, Goldobin, Gagner et al? I’m just throwing it out there, as a potential topic of discussion, because now that Karlsson is off the table what else is there to talk about?

It really doesn’t matter. I’m with vintage just making convo now that the sweeps are over.

Honestly I thought you were trolling. I believe Virtanen would still have trade value because of his pedigree and natural tools. My bad if you were just driving conversation. Imo, no matter how fat and lazy Jake is, you play him or trade him as he would be claimed.

I would be comfortable losing, gagner, granlund, liepsic, beagle, hutton, biega, nielson and/or Gaunce on waivers. I don't think any of these players has trade value with any upside. Might get another Etam or Jensen type for them but honestly WGAFF?

0% chance beagle or Gagne go on waivers. One guy we just signed and other teams were interested and gange is easily top 5 points on our team this year.

I think you should listen to less radio

Those are the worst fans, they’ll make you hate your own fanbase more and more by the day. It’s the same in every city.

Asshats like Pratt are the problem. 650 is a little more straight up with Hirsch etc. Most fans have always been fairweather types. Whiney & finger pointing for decades.

Good or bad I can say all of us here are far from fair weather fans but we all still whine and point fingers. #fordecades

Oh, I agree, I just could care less if they disappeared, Beagle wouldn't get taken, Gagner would sp I guess he's the least scrappy of the scraps.
