I hate to break it to you, but he has been bad since he started. Can you name any good trades/signings he has made? He hasnt been good. Also, Millbury is a different story(hes an idiot dbag), you can just look at all failed GM's for proof, most of them are still in a hockey role afterwards.

Lazar for a 2nd round pick was a good trade. Actually surprised the Flames were willing to give that up. Pick turned into Formenton, who the organization likes.

Brassard for Gustafson (sp?), and a first was also a good trade.

These don't come close to negating the terrible moves he's made, but he has managed to make the odd good move.

You realize that it is possible people just don't like him AND there is evidence to suggest that he is not great defensively. You have chosen to ignore it. Oh well.

Id say those are fairly mediocre moves as far as good GM's go. If those are the moves you are touting as his best moves, then I think that says all that needs to be said.

Per Pronman, the Sens prospect pool went from 13th, to 12th after this trade.

I'm still amazed (and jealous) that San Jose was able to add Karlsson to their roster, without taking anything off their roster.

The most positive spin that can be put on the upcoming few years is that even if the Sens finish dead last year, and even if they had won the Draft lottery (which I do not think the hockey gods would have allowed at this point), We would have only had Hughes for his 3 year ELC, after which he would expect a $15m X 8 (or whatever is going rate in a few years) all bonus contract, and we would pass him over to SJ for whatever they felt like giving up. So on the bright side, it doesn't really matter that we don't have our first this year, because we can't have nice things anyway
