Honestly it’s a stupid move

The Sens will suck for as long as any team in the NHL right now. Why take less in a trade? By the time the Sens may be competitive Karlsonn will be past his prime years.

Close to what? Melnyk is keeping this team. Maybe he moves the team to Quebec and these new owners you seem so sure about can just apply for an expansion team like the Browns did in the 90s. Would it really be much worse?
