Montreal is in a class of its own in terms of mediocrity. Quite possibly the worst team in the modern era. NYI does not have a bottom five team. I think they will fight for the playoffs.

I don’t get why they used that pick either. But most of the talking heads thought it was the right move.

My thought on this is that by giving up the 2018 pick, Melnyk and co. would have been telling the world they expected to be even worse next year. I think they were too concerned with the optics and the image that they were improving the team somehow.

It doesn't matter that the entire hockey world KNEW they were going to be terrible, they didn't want to admit it themselves, so they used this years pick in a stubborn attempt at insisting they expected better results next season.

the isles have barzal who's a stud, but their D is real sketch and they have very little up front

buff has eichel, dahlin, middelstadt, risto, skinner, reinhart, etc, etc

i think buff has a better line up, right now, than the isles.
