Dubas is very well spoken.

I said it most of the summer, Nylander, Gardiner and a 1st for Karlsson with an extension. I think it would have been a big enough haul to beat out any other offer and force them to overlook the idea of trading him to a rival. It's a helluva lot more than they got from San Jose, that's for damn sure.

At this point, I just hope he doesn't end up signing with Tampa Bay for free. They have the exact amount they need to sign him as a UFA next year.

They are clearly trying to let the younger players adjust a bit more, and put less pressure on them. Next year hell be wearing the C likely.
