Good review.
I think Formenton and Tkachuck are locks. Formenton plays a strong defensive game and had the best hit of the game Friday night against Chicago.
I think Chlapik has shown more than White.
The Lajoie thing is intriguing. Last year in camp Boucher raved about his hockey smarts and how much better he makes everyone else around him (always in position). I have not seen it. I expect Wolanin to dress opening night.

I agree that Formenton will likely start with the team, but would perhaps benefit from a longer sting developing. That speed of that line is intriguing though, so I think they should try it out. I just hope they actually play him if they're going to have him up here for 9 games this time.
If that's the case, will I assume Tierny will start as the second line center. With Chlapik or White seeing who will center Ryan and Boedker. |

I think Brown has been sent down to work on his speed, face offs and defensive positioning. I expect he is back before Christmas and will play 2nd line centre. I think they see too much in him to play him third or fourth line minutes. Better to go to Belleville and load up on ice time.

You have to disconnect the loss of the draft pick and the play of the young guys.
Hitting bottom is a process and it means learning to enjoy watching the kids grow.
The organizational stuff will work itself out.
Need to find enjoyment in being a fan in the most pedestrian ways. |

Why not just change the team you are cheering for, and then chirp the rest of the Sens fans. That would be familiar and comfortable for you. |

I don't know......
the direction of the team HAS to come into question. Why not have vets that play this year and have more guys play in Bingo. How much will their game grow chasing the pick (some of them) and being put in positions they shoudn't be in.
Hypothetical, bringing in a vet top 4 D-man to allow Chabot, Wolanin, and Jaros to have more time to develop. Don't think Demelo & Wideman is enough |

Great post. So you are proposing that one deletes their account and starts a new one as a fan of another team? |

From what I've seen, Tkachuk and Formenton are virtual locks to be on the opening night roster. Brown has the puck skills to play in the NHL, but really needs to improve his skating and faceoffs (eg. going 0-7 last night). McCormick has a 1-way deal, and likely isn't going anywhere. Carey has done nothing exceptional to warrant a roster spot, and I think they'll make a point of having at least 1 other high-end prospect on the starting roster. If that comes down to White and Chlapik, I'd be inclined to give the edge to White... plus, I think the team maybe feels he's owed a fresh start after breaking his wrist last pre-season.

Serious question.
How close is the starting team to the team Melnyk alluded to in 'that' interview? |

Interesting, the account deletion option is certainly intriguing. I wonder how that would work. Would it be a spontaneous, free-will, deletion, born out of frustration, for the sole purpose of hiding your embarrassment? Or, would the deletion be the result of a lost bet, subsequently followed by a team switch, in order to hide your embarrassment?
I am not sure there is a difference, but it is certainly worth discussing.

You have to count the rookies. If there are 10 or more than it is very close. |

Augustine of Hippo (354 AD) changed how we measured and understood time in the face of history. The Roman Empire was collapsing, the heathens were at the gate. Augustine taught that the flow of human history involved success and failures and time was not a mere linear progression of always better and always successful.
Same applies to sports franchises. At some point your capacity for success tops out. At that time, you need to step back and reevaluate your options and choices.
The minute you accept the revised perspective you can enjoy the progression towards more modest goals. I have enjoyed watching the play of the kids so far. I have decided to enjoy this season. |

Garrioch said the reason a one year deal was signed was because both dides were far apart on salary. He expects the will talk about a longer extension once the season is a bit farther along. Im probably being naive, but im optimistic we can keep Stone long term. No better guy to mentor our young players. |

IMO Hes not signing an extension now, the guy is hitting the market and will get paid. What may have been the rationale back then in July, a lot has changed since then. They cant sign an extension till Jan 1st and a commitment to the rebuild, cant see them gambling in extending him after the deadline.
Stone is a hired gun who they will traded, same with Karlsson, samd with Turris and the others before them, Melynk wont open up his wallet to keep them. When the big boys in Friedman are getting solid information on him being on the market, its not if, its when he will be moved. |

I;'m confident even Dorion could get back more than that for Stone. It seems Kamenev is having trouble making the jump to the NHL from what I've read. |
