I don't think the Leafs can get fair value under the circumstances. I'm sure every team in the league would like to have Nylander, but at 6.5 per or close to that. Eight mil is dreamland. And Price looks like a more relaxed man. What changed?

That's just it. Teams that could afford KneeLander at 8mil probably don't have what the leafs would want.. not without a salary dump contract that we definitely don't want. If the number is 6.5 it would probably be done already.

only team that makes sense of the 4 listed is the Ducks who have tons of good Dman to spare, the longer we see the Leafs D get owned the more chance they look at trading Nylander for a top Dman.

Leafs need good D. Ducks would be a good trading partner. Remember Ducks already lost 2 good D in Vatanen and Theodore.

Problem is the Leafs don’t trade anyone. They won’t get D standing pat & probably lose players to UFA. Dubas can play hard ball & Shanahan can talk about the past Wings but its the now & not back in the day. Willy isn’t taking a shave when nobody else will. 5 or 6 yrs at $7-7.5m i figure is what he would settle for.
