I suspect Wreckage is 14 years old, so you encouraging him to take off his shirt is creepy.

And I suspect the fact that you immediately drew a pedo conclusion is very unsettling, and far, far more disturbing.

Rielly is a #1. He is so underrated.

100% cracks me up when people say Leafs don’t have a number 1.

To be completely honest here, if the Ducks were to get Nylander, it would probably cost Montour. Hell, it might cost Fowler. But you dont know what the Leafs cap crunch is going to do in the next year here with Matthews and Marner needing contracts. If the Leafs really do intend on trading to the Ducks, I would try and stay away from giving up one of our top 4. And that wont happen.

Dream scenario would be

Leafs get:

Larsson / Pettersson
Ritchie
2nd rounder

Ducks get:

Nylander

But is that what the Leafs would want? A cost controllable Dman, who is one of the top d prospects in the Ducks Org, a NHL winger and a pick. Doubtful.

I'd be ok with trading montour and a 2nd for nylander. You can't get something for nothing.

And if Canadian teams expect the cap to move much take this into consideration... montreal and toronto already sell out to about 102% at home for attendance, winnipeg, Edmonton and calgary all sit around 100%, I believe vancouver is close to that too. Buffalo detroit minnesota and the border teams are there too. So unless ticket prices go up and Ottawa surprises and becomes successful cash isnt in reading from canadian markets anytime soon. Seattle is 2 years away so the wont help it either. No one watches hockey in the sunbelt until a team is successful in the playoffs so no money coming from Dallas Florida Tampa Carolina ect for a while. Rangers and Kings appear down so that's 2 major US markets lowering intake... Guess what Toronto... it might be in your best interest to ship out Marner or Nylander now before the cap flatlines or drops next year.

Um, you may want to take a gander at this:

http://www.espn.com/nhl/a.../_/year/2018/sort/homePct

Nashville, Tampa, San Jose, and LA all sold a higher percentage of seats for home games last season than Calgary and Edmonton. And Dallas was the team just behind Edmonton and Calgary. Florida has the Ottawa and Arizona problem, the arena is way the (frank) out of the way, and in Florida's case, in a terrible area where you really don't want to leave your car unattended for 3 hours, or go walking around after dark. I don't think they'd sell out every game if they played where the Heat play, a good location, but they'd be much higher than 81.3% capacity.

I wonder if Willy has his nose out of joint, being the 5th best forward on the Leafs.

You have to figure that Dubas/Leafs are setting a precedent here with Nylander. They may be waiting until the Matthews deal gets done (Who has said he would negotiate during the season) And I think he gets a VERY similar contract to Tavares. I've read "reports" That Marner may cost 10 million, which is ludicrous.

I like that the Leafs are playing hardball now with Nylander, because it could snowball if they give in to his reported 8M AAV ask. Ehlers is the best comparable to Nylander at 6AAV for 7.

Pastrnak signing at 6.67 is not really a comparable, Yes Pastrnak is better but that contract, at the time of it's signing, was market price, and paid for his potential, and it has worked out to a team friendly deal. Since then the cap has gone up.

If the Leafs keep scoring the way they are, Nylander doesn't really have much leverage... Sure they are leaking like a sieve on defense, but is Nylander REALLY going to help that?

I think we would prefer a blogger who knew that Bellows was a forward.😉
- Cptmjl

See, and that's why I want someone else to do it, because I don't get to see them. I know I should have checked that one out, but I just remember reading about him being sent down to improve his defensive game and well... thanks for pointing it out. Doesn't change the fact we need a blogger! I nominate you!
The team did look good today! Got to watch them play the Sharks and they were strong!

I thought that the Ottawa Senators didn't do trades within the division?
