NBC treats the NHL like the ugly orange haired stepchild. They suck.

Family health is always a priority...and being a retired firefighter I enjoy putting the time in to be competitive in the Hockey Buzz Fantasy League. So thanks for that EK.

Ek is totally right about the trapezoid. Never could figure out why they put that rule in; all it does is prevent Ed Belfour-levels of excitement and terror when he used to go roaming around way out of his net. It was awesome.

I'm thankful for Ek exposing me to the new holiday tradition of going around the table and everyone saying what they could live without.

For me, that would be Garrett Sparks.

I have no issue with eliminating the trapezoid. But if a goalie wants to go deep in the corners to play the puck, he should be fair game for full on body contact! Can't have there cake and eat it too!

I would be more thankful for NBC if they didn't think that all things NHL sprang from NY and the Rangers ... followed closely by whoever just won the Stanley Cup. And that all in season team traditions came from something that either the Rangers did or are doing.

That said...I am not thankful for the Trapezoid...other than for the discussion that it can lead to.

I am also not thankful for the lazy reporting that is all too prevalent. This team ALWAYS needs a center. That team ALWAYS needs a goalie..etc etc etc. Take the time to learn what is really happening with the teams and stop repeating stories that may have been true in the past but aren't really the big story any longer.

I'm thankful I moved to a smaller town and cancelled my season tickets so I don't get saddled with paying full price for pre-season games. I knew it irked me, but I feel better about skipping that lack of value than how bad I feel about the regular season games.

selective memory - once in a while a goalie would get caught, however, it's a Martin Brodeur rule. He was such a good stickhandler that he could play the puck better than most current Toronto defensemen. Teams couldn't get set up in the o-zone and New Jersey dominated playing boring hockey. Other teams and goalies started to imitate them and it was like a disease that spread across the league.

Mike Smith is the goalie who comes to mind that is skilled enough as a stickhandler to make hockey boring again.

I'm thankful that I don't have to waste time watching the NHL anymore

I'm not thankful for how friggen dull and boring the game is. No hitting, no intensity. It's one step above the All Star game.

I'm thankful there's always more to come.

I'm thankful if I go out of tune Ek always reminds me to stay tuned!
