A paltry 2 goals in 2 games is pathetic... as well as was the feeble shoot out skills shown against Vegas. Koivu was once one of the top rated shoot out players in the league and now looks like he's one of the worst.
I know it's early (obviously) but the way this squad has looked over the first 2 games I'll be shocked if they even come close to the post season.
They looked like they were in scrimmage games. No vigor, no pep, no snap to them with maybe a few exceptions individually.
I'm so tired of watching Nino lose puck battles and then risk penalty by taking hacks at the players he's losing battles with. Coyle seems to just go through the motions with no real impact on the games... and I'm not talking about just the first couple games, this crap goes back 2 years with both of those guys. Yeah, sure, Nino had a decent year 2 seasons ago, but i'll argue he should have been even better that year.
I"m just tired of waiting for those two to take the next step... Fenton needs to seriously re-consider the "rebuild" instead of the re load. This squad has gone as far as they're going to with the current personnel. |

"Adding Eric Fehr and Matt Hendricks to replace Matt Cullen and Daniel Winnik"
Interesting comment and probably a couple of different perspectives. I don't know that Cullen and Winnik had much more left in the tank than Fehr and Hendricks. From what I have read, sounds like maybe Fehr and Hendricks provide a little more leadership? Seems that is one area the Wild have been lacking in the past so maybe that helps. |

Gump we look at our teams the same way.
While yes the offense hasn't been there yet, the goaltending has been as good as any team in the league.
Speaking of goaltending, just wait for Thursday when Cam Ward and his goals against of 6.00 come to town. That could cure a beer league teams scoring.
Also agreed that at least it seems that bringing back the same team for the 4th year may result in the same results in the playoffs however over 100 points 3 out of 4 years is pretty darn good. Funny how our expectations change as our teams improve.
