...........exactly! Mathews leads the league in points, was star of the week.........yeah, who needs Nylander!? Sure we’re only 3 games in and that means very little. But it does show that Matthews will be awesome no matter what. We need him, we don’t need Nylander, and he wants $8M per!? Pffft. Trade him for a good D man or youth/prospects.

Has anyone said anything different?

i think the Leafs are a better team with Nylander in the lineup.

Yeah idk.. Its the only song i know by them..

I've been listening to a lot of 90's alt/grunge on YT lately.. Man, there was so much good music back then. I miss being about that life.

90's and early 2000's music is what I listen to the most, or 70's and 80's.

Modern day music is pure garbage. It's really went downhill lol

In case you missed it, Steve Simmons (yeah, I know) had a good blurb on Nylander:

William Nylander wants to be paid among the top 25 forwards in the National Hockey League, which is his right as a restricted free agent: It is also a rather ridiculous stance on the part of himself, his father and his agent, Lewis Gross.

He tied for 109th in goal-scoring in the NHL last season.

He was 59th in assists, 66th in points, and was 79th in points per game.

He wants Leon Draisaitl-like money without having put up Draistail-like numbers (there’s a 23-point difference between them). The last two seasons, his only two full seasons with the Maple Leafs, Nylander has 42 goals and 122 points.

David Pastrnak in Boston scored 71 goals and 150 points the past two seasons, coming out of the same 2014 draft Pastrnak was chosen in the first round. His salary, long term, is $6.8 million a year. Nik Ehlers of Winnipeg, selected one pick after Nylander, has signed long-term in Winnipeg for $6 million a season.

He has 54 goals the past two seasons and 124 points.

Nylander is said to want $8 million a year. His stance is understandable knowing approximately what Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner will sign for in the next year. But his numbers indicate $6 million is more his real value as an NHL player. Pastrnak has eight goals and 20 points in 18 post-season games.

Nylander has two goals — playing on Matthews’ line — in 13 playoff games and just eight points.
A figure somewhere between Ehlers and Pastrnak makes some sense for the Leafs. Anything more than that is an over-pay by Leafs GM Kyle Dubas.

Only trade him for a legit young 1D..

None of this 3rd rd pick, 2 mid level prospects, bad contract Weber type contracts, crap...

Since i can't see any team trading away a young 1D i think the best thing to do is just keep him.

I don't mind Johnsson, had some hope for Leivo...he just doesn't seem to get it going like he needs too IMO but maybe this year they'll give him a little more time.

you cant point out that Nylander plays with Matthews as a negative..implying his numbers are inflated because of that..and in the same breath use Patrnak as an example...who basically plays with 2 Matthews on his line.

I'm gonna keep positng Nylander gifs just in case any of you actually start thinking about trading him for a 3/4 D man..

Man those zone entries.. Remember when we though we wouldnt miss Nylander and that Ennis will be awesome with Matthews? I remember.

I remember seeing people post that Nylander would be worried after seeing Ennis play against AHL/ECHL'ers.

...and I remember laughing.
