3 games is a little premature to throw in the towel, don’t ya think?
- jdfitz77

Not sure if I some how implied that I completely gave up on skinner?

He did get bumped down a line already. Sheary took his spot with eichel and sam.

Canes are about to be 3-0-1

I think the game against Vegas he was invisible. But the first two he made notable plays. He’s hovering around and he has a good stick defensively to poke pucks like ROR did. Let’s give it time. Someone other then a Eichel and the erod line is going to have to get something going though if we’re gonna continue the winning streak.

Aho is having his coming out party this year. Svechnikov already with a couple himself.

Did we “cash in?”
Was Casey (1A in 3games 11:30ATOI) going to eat into ROR’s playing time?
Was ROR certain to be “disgruntled” even if demoted to 3C if he contributed to a contender?

So many questions that require narrative answers for the deal to be the right thing....

But he’s gone, and so far we’re winning. So I’m having fun.

- Der Kaiser

Plus...
-what if Casey never “surpassed” O’Reilly?
-or what if Casey ends up being a winger?

Also funny how i never saw any of the ROR detractors comment about how they were wrong about him being a problem in the locker room & fighting with Jack

Snagged svechnikov late in my fantasy draft.

Aho and terravinin helped push skinner out.

Maybe i read too much into it...
but when u said u saw “why the Canes moves on...”
It also seemed like u were implying we should too?

I don't see a 4m gap between RoR and Berglund at 5v5.
- Lunaion

We didn’t just take on Berglund.

And I won’t be shocked if ROR has more points per salary dollar than Berglund.

I’m not betting it, but I’d lay odds

Pretty much agree with all that
I was at the Vegas game, and thought he didn’t really do all that much
I’d like to see him with Mitts (or Jack) instead of Berglund though

So ror and jack say it was a joke now.

Pretty funny. 2 big jokers.

How would it help either of those guys to admit a problem with a teammate?

Especially ror after the dushane rumors.

Not sure if we know more now then before.
Sounded like a good cover up.
We were kidding.... haha

That’s also not a fair way to judge talent
Salaries take a big leap from average player to good
And then another leap from good to great

U could pull that line with a bunch of guys in relation to Jack
It’s not an apples to apples comparison though

My response related to a post that did precisely that. Maybe you need more partying in NYC.

Why make it up?
He could’ve just said nothing,
and everyone would’ve moved on

Except a few on these boards

I’ll take Jack’s word over unsubstantiated commentary from the peanut gallery

At first I felt like sobotka was definitely a salty cap equalizer and cap dump for the blues.

That jbotts wanted berglund as a 2/3 center that could help with the swedish youth in buffalo.

Again, it's only 3 games, but I'm not liking him too much yet. Lack of effort play on an icing in the 1st period of the season didnt look good.

Both may have been salary dumps
The 1st, 2nd and Thompson were the return

Could be wrong, its 3 games

Matthews scored twice again tonight (7 goals in 4 games), dude is going to get 14 or more a year... Marner has 3 points... he might get 10.

5-3 over dallas w 1:00 in the 2nd

- gordong

The Leafs simply can't afford that. The Blackhawks can't afford $21M between Toews and Kane. They have 7! forwards making $1M or less, the Sabres have 4.

If it's just raw points, I'd bet on RoR any day of the week. If it's even strength points per minute, that's a much closer bet.

Berglund was, at least in part, a salary dump.

I've formed my own opinion.

Didnt listen to JACK or others.

Nobody moves on....

Dushane and ror seamed pretty real

It really surprises you that 2 alpha males, on a losing team dont like each other?

I don’t buy the 5v5 horsepoop. When they do away with the power play after a penalty, or start playing crappy players on the PP, then I will limit my stat review until 5v5

Until then, points and wins are still how to get to the Cup.

There’s lots of teams with more than 1 alpha male... just bc we had 2, doesn’t mean there was actually a big problem between the 2

Again, I’ll take Jack’s word for it
No reason not to

😂😂😂

I’ll say this...
we are probably just short of a playoff spot this year

If ROR and Kane were still on the team,
I have ZERO doubt we’d be in
And maybe even 2nd place in our division

That would make sense IF O’Reilly was still here

I’m not telling you what to believe or not...
But there was no need for him to lie about the situation
Like i said...
Jack could’ve just said nothing at all

It's just a matter of time before Skinner starts to light it up. Was at the game yesterday and his much talked about skating is the real deal.

It's not so much his flat out speed(which is good) but the way he moves in tight quarters. He seems really difficult for the Defense to track because his skating and stickhandling is so elusive.

He seems to fall under the "playmaking winger" category much like Kane....Patrick not Evander. That takes a lot of pressure off of his center.

That's fine, but I obviously don't agree. I think RoR is easily replaced on the PP. I think it's only fair to evaluate Berglund as RoR's 5v5 replacement. So far, he's been good.
