I wonder if Housley will shuffle the lines before the road games when the opposing team gets the last change. Most teams will try to match their top line against Mittelstadt. Housley may be trying to prepare him for that by playing him in a defensive role now. Hopefully Sobotka is back by then to help Mittelstadt out on the left side. I won't be surprised or worried if he struggles in the first few road games, while going up against top competition

I would like to see Sobotka and Okposo back flanking Mitts like in game one. Thompson going back with Skinner and Berglund. I think Sobotka can take the draws and provide the defensive assistance to help with the matchups Mitts will get on the road.

Teams may try to go against the girgs-erod-pommer line. I think that would be better for the Sabres. But the other teams watch film too. They'll try to attack Mittelstadt with the last change, imo

I was just pointing out the obvious, if road teams get the last change and want to take advantage of the defensive match up, he will be playing less.

I'm not so sure he is a bad defensive center, but more a young inexperienced kid at the nhl level.

Kid was playing high school hockey a year and a half ago. He’s only played against grown men for one season at the collegiate level. We all know the NHL is a big step up from college. He’ll be fine. He has 6 points through his first 9 games including last season. That’s a 54 point pace. He’s gonna go through growing pains. I think by game 30 we’ll see what he’s capable of
