That being said, they did the exact same thing last year. Like literally, same amount of goals after 4 games, 1 more goal against.

If you consider Nylander not being in the line-up, their offense could end up being more or less the same it was last year.

He scored like 20 goals last year. No way he should get more than 6.5mil.

If he had a brain he would realize that he could have taken a one year deal and scored at a ppg pace this year to force the leafs to give him 8 mil.

Now? He will sit out for a few weeks and then take a one year deal before the deadline in December. Won't be on the first power play because he didn't go to camp. He is going to be the odd man out all year now.

This hold out probably cost him millions in the long term.

Such a sideways pointless move that would probably do nothing beneficial for either team.

Reading sportsnet here’s an interesting thing to ponder. Gagne is with the Marlies. Johnsson and Lindholm have failed with Kadri and Brown. Gagne can finish and plays decent and has experience. Maybe see what Van wants to fully take him off their hands and send down the young guys to get more seasoning?
