Nope. They are fighting it out with Buffalo for worst team in the league once again. Too bad. I kinda like Arizona since they were the former Jets at one time.

I hope not, but for purely selfish reasons.

Dano routinely points out that his offensive gifts were stifled by Lamoriello's defense first system. Had they taken the reigns off of Daneyko, he might have become a consistent 4 goals per season type of player.

Scoring isn't what's important.

As long as they have more shot attempts for at 5v5 than they give up shot attempts against at 5v5, they are truly winners, regardless of the scoreboard.

In fact, I think every single time they get the puck, no matter where on the ice, they should just turn and fire it at the other net. Doesn't matter if it's wide, because it's still a shot attempt (and if it's icing, so what, faceoffs don't matter either) and that will help them have the coveted highest corsi and therefore win the NHL.

Well, our hockey teams stinks, but we have great weather and gorgeous women all over the place. So actually we win every day.

Enjoy the next 11 months of winter

Tie Domi has some nice things to say about the Arizona franchise:

https://www.tsn.ca/tie-do...n-a-real-market-1.1193988

Former NHLer Tie Domi met with reporters on Thursday as Max and his teammates practised in Brossard, crediting Montreal’s playing environment for his son's solid start.

"Just the opportunity and the way everyone's treated him here, from the owner, Geoff Molson, Marc Bergevin, Claude Julien, Kirk Muller, Luke Richardson and all the trainers, all the coaches and teammates. They've all been amazing," explained Domi. "He's happy every day and the fans have been amazing to him."

Domi, 23, was acquired by the Canadiens from Arizona last June in a trade for winger Alex Galchenyuk. And Tie, who spent most of his career down Highway 401 as a member of the Toronto Maple Leafs, knows all about the benefits of playing in an established Canadian NHL market.

"Nobody chooses where you get drafted, where you play and where you get traded to," Tie told reporters. "When you have players on a team in Arizona – (Chris) Pronger, (Pavel) Datsyuk [and] now they got (Marian) Hossa – to get to the floor, you don't really understand that kind of stuff. He's a kid.

"Now he's understanding it. He's on a real team in a real market and it's exciting to see him taking it all in. But at the same time, he's taking it a day at a time. He's a positive kid and it's good to see him with a smile on his face and the team having a lot of success right now."

That success has the Canadiens starting the season with a 4-1-1 record and Domi centering a productive line between Drouin and Lehkonen. So far, that has been a nice change of pace after arriving from Arizona.

"He cares about winning," Tie explained. "When you're out of the playoffs before Christmas three years in a row, coming off three Memorial Cups in London and the World Juniors, it's a tough pill to swallow for anybody."

No playoffs for this team.

But maybe when you get lord and saviour Galchenyuk back you will be a playoff team. Hahahahaha

Tie Domi is a huge loser, who cares what he says? This is incredibly stupid, but anyone who's ever heard the guy talk before won't be surprised.

Great post. I especially enjoyed this part where Domi alludes to the fact that the Yotes are not a real team. Hiring some kid who only knew how to Hockey on a computer with a stats program has the Yotes no closer to being a "real" team than they were when they hired him for the job.

It's appalling that people are still making jokes like this. I really don't care one way or the other, but I'd like to see some post-2008 material.

And you really prove this point by taking time out of your busy day between writing best selling novels, and updating your twitter account, to make this post.

Fighting has no place in this game because any contact to the head could kill you. It should be completely removed from the game just like body checking, the use of hard playing surfaces like ice and the boards and glass need to be replaced with some kind of foam material. Also the sticks and the puck are too hard and need to be replaced with some sort of virtual reality, stats based apparatus. We need to protect the players gosh darn it.
