Who makes the final decision about the ELC? They want to give the young guys the experience while results aren't an issue, but don't want to burn the advantage they have with the elc's. Does the coach, or GM make the executive decision? Or is it Brooke's?

Funny last question. I presume it’s coach with GM and owner.

I wouldn’t mind if Chytil was sent down. That’s not a knock on the kid either. He just turned 19. Sending him down doesn’t mean he’s a bust. If anything, it’s a compliment to the kid that it’s even a conversation. He’s good enough to be here but needs to play. ELC aside, I wouldn’t mind if he were up and down throughout the year. Same for Andersson

Just curious
If someone like Chytil, or Andersson spends the year in the AHL and their contract slides, what do they get paid?

Don’t think it’s a two way deal, so presume it’s full salary, but will find out. Even if full salary, no impact on cap, since the amount is below the min salary threshold that can be buried in the minors.

What would be an acceptable return for Kreider, who is signed through next season at a pretty nice cap hit?

I remember reading a story over the summer that Sweeney was absolutely sick to his stomach during draft that they traded the first rounder

I'd be surprised if they did it again, but I am sure they think they need to add to compete with Toronto and Tampa this year

If Howden hadn't been as good as he is right now, Chytil would be in his spot.
I say send him down for this season to get more ice time and develop. No reason to waste a year when he isn't going to be developing his game at this level.

this is exactly the point and he is a year older than Chytil so it makes sense

Well if they are looking for top line talent, I can't imagine they wouldn't have to give up a 1st, unless they have a prospect who is projected as a top end guy.

chytl not that good

what falls u scrap up & do it again

sounds exactly what NYR is doing : flinging crap at the wall hoping sum sticks

In and out lineup there. Some talent, a partial piece for CK20 but would need a ton more than that and unsure Boston would surrender what New Tork wants. Now maybe Zucc as a UFA after the year could be more palatable in terms of return to them...

I wish they really wanted a center, I got a guy they could have who has some fancy frosted tips. Takes care of the whole sending Chytil down thing too

After Boston traded for our UFA at the TDL? How did that work out for them?

Don't you know that if you haven't made it when you turn 19 just before the season you are a bust.
