Read, quite honestly, played his way onto the Wild roster out of camp but was ultimately the final cut based solely on contract status. Now Read who has experience playing on the top line as he played there quite often with Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek in Philadelphia.

That is a...ummm....that is quite a stretch. He hadn't played on a top line in Philly in about 3 years and for most of his Flyers career was stapled to Sean Couturier. Good for Read though. Always liked him.

Is it just me or is Pateryn pretty much the slowest skater in the NHL?

You forgot Koivu.

I am not all that worried about Pateryn's skating speed since he is playing 3rd pairing. What scares me is the team speed down the middle with this lineup. Staal is not the faster, Koivu is SLOOOOOOOW and Coyle is no speed demon either...not even saying anything about Fehr.

I like seeing Read up here, as he played well in preseason. Not so sure about him on the top line. And I hate that Coyle is being slid over to C in this lineup. There HAS to be someone at Iowa that has speed that could center the 3rd line while JEE is out.

And going on record here, calling the shot. Nate Prosser scores the "Ovech-Trick" tonight (9 goals in a game...from old commercial) playing LW on the 4th line tonight. I SOOOOO see this happening.

I think the Wild management team is right up there with Hakstol and Hextall, dumber and dumber. M. Read does not belong in the nhl let alone first line minutes. He has been pretty much useless for the past few years. Boudreau is a fool and is gonna get himself fired again. Granlund needs to be with Staal and Zucker to have at least one good line. Koivu in the top six is troubling as well. If I could trade my Wild and move on I would but nobody wants a dumpster fire. FU Boudreau

I think the Wild have a few of the slowest, lol Boudreau must be brain dead or just plain stubborn to the point of getting canned.

I liked Read at one time and am happy for him. The fact is we all know he is not a first line winger anywhere in the nhl or ahl for that matter, except here in Minnesota. That kinda tells you the state of hockey in Minnesota, gonna be a gong show. I am leaving this circus soon if this keeps up. See far too much of Koivu, Parise and now Read, at least Suter is still fairly good. Parise is fine too but for how long till he breaks something. Give the young guys a chance, anything is better than Read. Niederreiter would probably get inspired if he got to play first line. Coyle, Greenway, anyone but Read ffs

Hey Dan, you are being generous on Read. He played first line one hundred years ago or so and I would would ever rather have the useless Ennin instead of Read. It may work for a game or two but the future is sad and the coach is a jerk. No wonder nobody follows the Wild on this site. What a joke.
