Montreal and Ottawa have to come to mind as some of the biggest surprises.

Only Detroit (-12) has a worse differential in that game state.

True. But both teams are better than most thought they'd be at this point.

The Panthers have put up good numbers and been a surprise so far? Huh, they have not won a game yet.

Don't get why people seem to rate the Blackhawks as some rotten basement dweller? Yeah they missed the playoffs last year, but they made it for like 10 straight years before. They're core maybe pushing into there late 20's early 30's but I don't think they'll be an easy pushover just yet.

You need to understand is that, in James Tanner's world, if you have great corsi, winning games doesn't matter.

That explains it. We're bad this year because we don't have a first next year.

Toews slumped, Seabrook collapsed, they thought Saad for Panarin was reasonable and trading a first to get Ladd back was a good idea...A lot has gone wrong for them recently. Based on what we're seeing early on though, these guys want to prove they're still in it. They still have an excellent skill set, but the surrounding cast has been getting weaker over the years.

I wish there was another opinion for these hot take things. Having one plus whatever warm slush Tanner creates is weak sauce

Not so sure I'd say the devil's are a bad team on am unexpected streak. They are far from a great team, but they made the playoffs last year and they are more or less an average to good team most games.

It’s important to remember that the Blues have eight new or inexperienced faces on their roster. Chemistry will likely take a while.

In the past ten years, the Blues have had ten first round picks, so no, not really.

They trade 1sts for 1sts, in order to get a certain player. Then trade said player in a later deal

100% Tom. First thing I thought of when I read the title.

Plus winning is much much harder than losing.
