I think you're right there. But I don't see it being a smart move for the Flyers. While they don't have anyone in the system like Nylander sans maybe Frost, or at least the potential of Frost, they have plenty of forwards with top 6/middle 6 potential (I know Nylander is better than that).

Apart from Myers, they don't have anyone in the system that can replace Sanheim. This team needs Sanheim and Myers to become the 3/4 Dmen. It would be like dealing a position of need and acquiring more of the same strengths.

He has always been groomed to be a top 2 pairing guy, but he is most definitely not going to see that potential on a Philly D showcasing Gostisbehere and Provorov...

Huh? Ghost isnt a Top 2 Dman. He's a fantastic PP QB but defensively he would be best at #3 position. Nylander and Kapanen will be a good player but the Flyers need their Dmen. Sanheim is going to be a big part of the Flyers future.

Unless the conversation starts with a 1st rounder and a real roster player (Kappenen for example) then the conversation can stop.

I would rather hear that Dubas wants Simmonds.

I commented before reading the blog, assumed it was about Sanheim for Nylander.

After finding out the blog is about Kapanen for Sanheim. I'd certainly do that. But the Flyers definitely wouldn't.

If by some miracle Philly would do that trade. I hope the Leafs would only do it if Nylander signs. Losing both Nylander and Kappy would suck!

A Mac is finished as an NHL player. Ghost and Prov have been lackluster. Sanheim and Hägg to a lesser degree have been flyers best D guys. Hex will have TOP return i guess.

Dubas would be a wise man to want Simmonds. The Leafs are just being pushed around right now. This guy can stop that, and he can also score. He'd be the perfect piece to add to a soft Leafs team. Hell, if the Leafs wanted to trade Nylander and Kapanen for Simmonds and Sanheim, I'd take that deal. Let Philly pay Nylander his 8.5M a year.

What are you talking about? Ghost has been fine, yes Provorov has had a bit of a struggle. AMac is is injured hence why he was out of the lineup. Did you not find it odd that he was said to be out 6 weeks and he was playing within 2 weeks?

Now that I think about it, if the Leafs acquire Sanheim, that pretty much spells the end of Jake Gardiner in Toronto. That would give them 3 solid LD's

You could be right. But if he comes in, scores 20 goals and stops Toronto's kids from being pushed around, he would still be worth having around. And you wouldn't need to pay him $8M.

I'd rather pay Simmonds than Nylander personally. He's like a Matt Martin who can score 20 goals in a bad year. And it prevents Dubas from having to negotiate another contract with Nylander in a few years.

Not true. The lack of effort is their biggest problem. They have hardly shown up against bottom feeders. And good teams have made them look awful at times.

Hopefully that changes soon. Luckily they have still found a way to win some games.
