Here is why Niku should be called up. Calling up Niku would force a player to waivers. That player should be Kulikov!! What this does is;
-Kulikov get claimed and that’s best case scenario as it clears Valuable cap space this year and next.
-Kulikov has not played much hockey the last few years, this allows him to go to moose and play top pairing min to the gain his confidence and hopefully improve
-Kulikov with extra playing time on moose, suffers yet another back injury and is forced to basically call it a career, he then goes on ltir and again this clears up cap space next year.
-he plays on moose and doesn’t improve, nothing gainednor lost.
Remember!! Niku can not be worse than any of Chairot, morrow or Kulikov so enough is enough, bring him up and play him with buff or Trouba. |

Niku's time is coming. That we can still say he is unlikely to be worse than Kuli, Chiarot and Morrow is not the statement for a player we are looking for Niku to be. If his defensive game will improve faster with the Moose then that is where he needs to be. I think we will see him with the Jets in the next couple of months.
I am a little surprised he didn't go to Finland, I am sure there are some dynamics we are not aware of going on here. Could be that it's meant to be a wake-up call to play two-way hockey (think Buff getting passed over for team USA a few years back), player being ambivalent about going back, or simply because there is a genuine belief that the guys sent give us the best chance to win and this is not exhibition hockey. It would be huge pressure on him and worst case his defensive game is exposed and he doesn't produce in front of friends/family. Really there isn't too much to gain by having him there except for media points. |

Sami Niku like Roslovic, Petan, Lemieux, Appelton has not yet earned Maurice's trust.
When these players earn Maurice's trust they will begin getting regular NHL ice time. |
|
|
|
The only way young players earn Maurices trust is when he is forced into playing them due to injuries to one his old reliable players. Thats how Scheifele, Morrissey and Connor got to play in the lineup. |

Just watching the game today. I love Laine, I hope that he's not becoming just a power play specialist. |

Nice to get the win and a little bonus for Laine to get the trick. Thought the Jets played a decent game, not amazing, but solid.

But still no 5v5-goal... one 5v6 (into the empty net). |

Kulikov today when on the ice. Jets had 2 shots on net, Florida had 10. |

How many of those shots went in? Where were the shots taken from?
Not being facetious, I am genuinely curious. |

Woulda, coulda, shoulda-ing their way through the early season. They are probably the best suckiest team in NHL hockey history. They coulda won, they maybe shoulda won, the story's getting old now. |

Our fan bae is almost as toxic as the Habs. If no one scored on the PP, they’d be calling for Chevy’s and Maurice’s heads.
Laine scores on the (frank)ing PP. Isn’t that what a team is supposed to do? Score on the PP?
(frank) you guys. Burn your (frank)ing Jets jerseys, if you want to. Rest assured, there will be a ton of us who carry on.
Do none of you mother(frank)ers remember Wheeler’s slow starts in the past?
Smarten the (frank) up and calm the (frank) down.
Winnipeg is good.
The Jets are going to be fine. |

Petan going in today is great, Roslovic coming out instead of Lemieux makes no sense. |

Pretty sure I’ll make it. Not sure about 90% of ‘fans’ that come here to whine and female dog. |

Wheeler isn’t having a slow start. That implies he’s good, just not scoring yet. He’s been an absolute disaster at 5 on 5 |

I haven't seen much from Roslovic this year, in the limited ice time that he has received. Someone has to sit in order for Petan to suit up, maybe a pressbox game will be good for Jack. |
