I would not do that trade. Ehlers is a Kariya/Bure type player and is proven. Both players you want are unproven. If I trade Ehlers, I want a Center coming back.

I agree with this 100%. The thing that’s even more fun about is that with Little having a sudden resurgence, another center isn’t even a problem. Just let Petan or Copp run the 4th line, and you’re 4 lines deep with overqualified centremen

On-Ehlers is a legit, top line forward who does basically everything at a top level.
Off-Ehlers is basically just a space creating, zone entry god who can’t seem to get anything done once hes got it out of our end and into theirs

Than trading him for Pulijarvi makes no sense. If you want a Finish forward to compliment Laine, I suggest looking at Aho or Barkov.

Funny enough My boy Joel Armia so far has more goal than Wheeler, and Ehlers.

That's an angle to this discussion that you can reasonably take I think the only players on the Jets of any interest to me would be Ehlers or Trouba but you don't trade Dmen top pairing Dmen for wingers (unless Taylor Hall, ofc) and Trouba's cost uncertainty is too much of a risk compared to Klefbom's 4.16mil.

simple, Klefbom is on a great contract and is far better than myers who is a pending ufa and will be over paid on his next deal. Pulju, is off to a slow start in his career but I still see a very high upside. I noticed his English is still very poor and think this may also be playing a part. ehlers is better than Pulju today, 2-3 years from now I'm not so sure? and this deal saves us on cap space which we still desperately need.

Points aren’t everything. His powerplay production tripled, while every single aspect of his game at 5 on 5 regressed a bit. Let’s not get it twisted, Wheeler is still excellent, he’s just not as good as he used to be. Age gets everyone.

I have a Wheeler jersey on my basement wall, btw. Love the guy, he is 100% the captain we need, but I’m not gonna lie and say I don’t see the cracks forming in his game.

Don't let Rexy get you fired up. He put Connor and Wheeler on the 3rd line of his little "fantasy" lineup. That says enough. Not to mention his love of Trouba who still needs to step up his game another couple levels to prove he is a 7M D man in this league. Most fans who watch these games can see that Wheels and Connor are the two guys you want most on the ice whether we are up 1 goal, or down 1 goal in the final minute of a big game. Wheeler makes everyone around him better, and was huge for the Jets when Schiefs was injured, stepping up to the task of #1C.
