Gotta agree with Tanners view point that the isles are playing over their heads right now, and Lou is definitely not the most forward thinking GM, but Trotz is a fine coach. Could see the Isles being on the playoff bubble, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them completely bottom out either. Look at what happened to Anaheim after their hot start fueled by stellar goaltending.

I beg to differ for a few reasons 1) working with what was inherited, trotz and Lou have made good use. 2) Barzal hasn’t caught fire yet and when he does we all know what that brings to this team. 3) goaltending has been much better as well as bottom six. Always Believe it’s early yet !!

Barzal was always the #1 choice to regress of all rookies. He has to play D now and faces tougher competition with no JT

Because they’ve played the toughest schedule in the league so far. Nashville, San Jose and Pittsburgh twice each. Tampa. And they haven’t played the cupcake Rangers yet
