I agree on Bettman, as fun as it is to portray him as a villain, all he's done is do his job, and do it well. He's not custodian of fan's feelings, he's employed by the owners to present their desires. The owners have "won" every CBA since he started, and taking a totally different tack from the NFL which actively tries to relocate teams, he tries his damnedest to keep teams where they are. By all rights the Sabres should've been moved during the Rigas fiasco when they were without an owner because he was a Grade A scumbag. The Sabres and Coyotes especially, and the Hurricanes and Panthers and their fans should be thanking him, because if those teams were in the NFL they'd almost certainly have been moved by now. Perhaps he was a bit quick on the draw with Atlanta, but no one's perfect.
Thank you for humanizing
Gary Bettman. As a fan we don’t get to see that side of him and when he speaks he gives of a bit of an air of arrogance. He is fun to boo. I respect how he now embraces that. When he was booed in Vegas handing out the cup he had a line about that proving Vegas was a NHL city - that was a good touch (I’m sitting
In an airport awaiting a flight
To Vegas as I type this).
