Would Hornqvist, Sprong and a 1st for Panarin be close? Maatta, Sprong, 1st? There was rumours Rutherford was talking to the jackets about him in the summer more then a couple times. For the people that need a "trusted" source Dreger talked about it and said it could be a match but jackets would want NHL ready parts back in the deal. Looks like Panarin is leaving the jackets in the summer anyways.

Id be willing to take a chance to get him for the rest of the year for a deep run and then hope he resigns in the offseason with the pens. It was rumoured Panarin wants 8 years 8 million in the offseason which can still work with our cap if he did sign that.

I thought Hornqvist no trade was only 6 or 8 teams though... I highly doubt Jackets would be one of his bottom 6 or 8. Im trying to find the article but it was either Dreger, Mckenzie or Friedman that said in the summer lots of teams value Maatta as a solid top 4 with potential as a top 2 or 3 younger dman. I definitely dont but Ill try to find it.

I meant more of the potential of the top 2 dman. But even a 24 year old solid top 4 with potential for more, signed for 3 or 4 more years @ 4 million holds lots of value in this league.
