Just in case anyone still thinks Smith isn't to blame...

Rittich definitely needs to see som starts, but I'm not sold on him as a starter. I think he will be exposed when we play teams that have legit goalscorers. Rittich likes to use his positioning to allow the puck to hit him & make the save...I'm not sure he has the athletic ability to be a starter that can steal games for his team.
Trading for Bob or Schneider might not be as far fetched as we once thought... |

I think Rinne just got an extension so I could see them going after Sorros. Bob is going to ask for too much cash. Might be something there with Schneider but not like he is playing much better than Smith at the moment.
Gotta hope Rittich can take the next step or that Smith finds his game. |

Sorry to say not gonna happen. Saros signed cheap for another two years & Rinne only extended 2 years. Poille is no dummy & has a transition plan. Nashville has no need to trade Saros. |

Howard could be an interesting lower-cost option. Detroit might want to re-sign him, but they might be better off selling him off and going into full-rebuild mode. |

Yeah he could come and just be another Smith. Too risky for me |

and Saros could be another Ortio/Johnson/Ramo...that's the risk you take with any trade.
At least Howard is a UFA, so not much long-term risk on our end really. He seems to be playing pretty well this year, at least warrants a tire-kick IMO |

How many goalies must you run out of town before you see that the real problem is your poor defensive play all around esp the forwards. - oil90
guy who obviously didn't watch the game...
Flames allowed 24 shots and not that many high danger...Rittich has good numbers |
